E250d Engine smoke

Hi there,

I went to see an e220d I wanted to purchase but there’s smoke coming from the left side of the engine bay.

Anyone can point in the direction of what it could be?

ive tried to upload a video.

thanks

Looks like the right side of the engine bay which would be the exhaust side. Could be exhaust fumes coming from a leak (not sure how audible that should be) or from something getting burnt on the exhaust manifold.

hi there. The right side you’re right. It’s on the driver side.

The owner seems to think a turbo boost pipe could be loose. I’m unsure on why we’d see smoke though, id assume you’d feel a loss of power if that was the case. Any ideas ?

Unfortunately I have no experience with this, but I would not expect (so much) smoke in the boost side. Hopefully someone can give you some more tips as what this could be.

if that's what the owner thinks, then it's probably something else. Either RUN away, or get a PPI done...
