cranking but not starting
Hi, my 2010 e550 coupe c207 would not start the other day. I sat in the drivers side and noticed the brake pedal was not able to be pressed as it normally is. It was kind of locked, kind of like the car trying to say its not going to start? Then pressing the start engine button it would crank or spin, dash lights would come on, car was rumbling trying to start making a very odd noise. This continued until i let go of the brake pedal. Tried over and over and same thing. Tried jumper cable boosting it with another car and it still would not start - exact same problem: unable to fully press brake pedal, constant cranking or spinning (not sure the term) and unable to fully start.
Here is a video:
Battery is from 2019, starter was replaced 6mo ago for a slow crank/start issue.
Unsure what to do, i called a tow in the morning. When he came i tried to turn it on to show him the sound and the damn thing started!?
Drove fine to my mechanic he checked it out and said everything checks out no symptoms of any problems? I have no idea what to do.
Would appreciate any suggestions,
Thanks.

Update: battery, starter, alternator are all testing ok. I
t has started right up every day since without issue.
I did notice the dipstick smells strongly of fuel. Fuel mixing with oil?

Had a near identical issue with my BMW and issue was the Mass Airflow Sensor. Disconnected that and car started right up. On the C207 there is a sensor attached to the intake that you can disconnect. It sounds like a sensor issue. That would explain why your issue comes and goes
