Have not seen this on here, but have not searched everywhere either. 2013 E550 coupe. Parts from eBay. Had to cut the pipes to my spec. Each side different lengths and angles to cut. Not as easy to take off and on as stock tubes but won’t fall apart either. Will be doing the same to my 2017 S550 coupe.

Nice. Hate the clamps, but rubber and tube is sweet. If I were to get this I spoze I'd use it without the clamps.
Ebay link?
Meanwhile I've just been repairing my oem as they tear, so far so good.
Thank you! There's a few posts with similar tubes, but colored red or blue and/or with a hole for a fitting right in the middle. I like plain Alum and no hole, and I like the thin-ish hose, just wish the angle were better. Or better yet, a length of that hose bent just right!
Too bad nothing is made in the US anymore, I wanted to ask the seller if they could simply make some bent to 30 deg.
In your opinion, do you think it needs clamps? I was thinking it would be nice to use silicone to hold all but one joint, then it can just pop out when you pull the filter. What are your thoughts on that?
Also wondering how the fitment on the car side. I'm guessing the airbox side was loose? The inlet side looks great btw. Was it easy or a battle? Force fit or glued on?
Motor mounts tight so it doesn't rip that out when you floor it?

I put clamps to not have system possibly pulling in hot engine bay air. Maybe could run without them. I had to assemble inlet duct to silicon pipe to alum. pipe to silicone pipe. Then slide it on the air box, then slightly fight the oval duct into place. The pipes both had about 3/4” gap between inlet duct and end of pipe when pipe is butted up against the air box. Had to cut angles that worked as well as I could get them. I can take pics later for clarification. I did not silicone or glue anything, that might work out well in a few places. The silicone hose force fit well and tight on the oval inlet duct. The silicone pipes are easy to slide on the alum. pipe but hard to get off. Have not done any hard pulls to see if anything comes off but I highly doubt anything will. I have 2 M278 engines so got two sets for $120 using “make best offer” on eBay. Lot cheaper than VRP or others at $60 per set.

That explains it nicely, thank you. No need for extra pix, but if you do it won't hurt
The VRP looks really nice but I got burned with their motor mounts. Not that I'd pay $280 for intakes anyway, but I won't buy from them after that mess. It wasn't until after I got the mounts and had problems that I heard the stories about how VRP sucks.
Looks like theirs is basically identical to yours except they made the oval inlet adapters to better fit it.
I know the S550 coupe M278 pipe lengths and angles will be different because inlet ducts are farther away from air boxes. $300 after tax/shipping from VRP is crazy for these, but I’m sure they have sold some. I’m going to see if I can come up with a better clamp setup to make it easier to install. I read your engine mount ordeal and sucks it didn’t work out. Do give you props for going through all the R&D on a part not easy to swap out. Would be nice if someone made some good mounts. I have replaced the E550 coupe mounts and know the S550 coupe mounts will be upcoming. Between fixes and maintenance, I feel like a captain willing to go down with his ship which is ironic being that I was a party barge captain for 7 years in Austin in my younger life.
I'm not done with the eng mounts yet, just back burner because I'm trying to pass smog which is proving rather difficult. DTC P2610 just won't go away.
Meanwhile, I found this:
I assume 1 meter is enough to do both sides? Curious if can be bent enough to work without buckling. My guess is no, but would work with a spiral of wire in it for support. Just might have to buy that puppy.
