Question about the grille

I am a happy new 2019 E450 Coupe owner. I placed the order for it about 6 months ago and it finally arrived. Whoo-who!

I was expecting the front grill to have the hexagonal 'pins' to be chrome, rather than black. Was this only part of the AMG package (which I didn't get)? Guess I didn't pay closely enough attention to that part. Regardless, loving the car!

I think the grill configuration (chrome/black) depends on the equipment package. My E 400 anniversary edition cab has a black grill. My C 300 coupe with AMG package has chrome. The E 400 doesn't have the two "fins on each side of the lower valance like other E 400's that I've seen. I happen to like the chrome "pins". But that's just me. Good luck with your new ride.

Yes, diamond grill with chrome pins comes only with the AMG external package. If you have black pins you don't have AMG bodystyling.

I believe they sell an adhesive backed sheet of chrome stick ons to convert the grill. I think I saw it on this forum...but not sure. They actually showed the sheet with an individual peeling and sticking on the chrome dots. Now there's an interesting project. (I wouldn't make this up!!)

Other thing to consider, some of these grills (probably not OEM) are available on eBay or other sites.
