I recently purchased a 2019 S560 and there is a scratch/crack on the touchpad surface. Reading through the form here I got a copy of the service bulletin, and my car does have an unlimited mileage CPO warranty. Curious to know anyone’s opinions on whether or not this would be covered under the warranty at this point?
If MB doesn’t cover it under warranty, any thoughts on whether putting a piece of gloss black vinyl wrap over the touchpad would be effective? I’m really not that familiar with wrapping vinyl product, also not sure if a layer of wrap would affect the operation of the touchpad?
I appreciate any comments and advice from this group.
Here is a picture showing the scratch. Not a huge deal but I like my cars to be perfect.

Exact same experience. I keep my car in a garage. I live outside of Boston, MA. No extreme heat. The trackpad started cracking and continues to peel in all directions. I thought something had scratched it though I had no idea from where. Now realizing this is completely defective because it gets worse all the time. The dealership said it would be $500 to replace and they were willing to give me a 10% discount. Forget that. This is a defective item and Mercedes should stand by their product. Very disappointed in Mercedes. I’d like to complain to corporate.

I live in the Bay Area and the car is always in the garage and heat isn’t an issue
but yesterday I came to fresno California and the temps were in the high 90s and car stayed outside. Today I wake up and look at the pad and it’s cracked. There is no impact point and I don’t remember anything hitting it.
Gonna take it to dealership but was looking for some insight. Not even sure if warranty covers it
