C238 roof rack recommendations and experience

Hi all,

With the coupe in Baltimore port and hoping that it will survive Hurricane Florence (since it survived old town Florence without a scratch during EDP), I'm thinking ahead to frequent day ski trips this winter.

I was wondering if anyone has used a roof rack on the C238 and their experiences? Ordering the car I remember that the DOG didn't have the rack as an option.

All opinions welcome.

Thule shows a roof rack kit, actually two different ones but one precludes opening the sunroof. Don't get the low profile one.

I've found that roof racks take about 1-3 mpg off of fuel mileage and don't help Bluetooth call sound quality due to noise being telegraphed through to the header microphones. Looked into a rear hitch mount using the sedan hitch but the back end of the coupes are slightly off dimensionally. That and a hitch mounted bike rack drives the backup sensors crazy.

Thanks Ikfoster. I ski fairly close so the change in mpg will not be an issue.
Went to Thule website but they don't seem to have anything yet once I go through putting in the model of vehicle..."check in 6-8 wks".

I figure to use the sedan kit. Any slight difference in roof profiles should be managed by adjusting the bar connections.

Thule seems to be fairly conservative. They still don't carry a roof rack kit for our Audi S5 with sunroof, but I've had the non-sunroof rack on the car since it's new with no issues.

After a long search I found the only flush rack, online in Netherlands, that was advertised specifically for C238. It is a Yakima flush whisper bar. Installation was pretty straightforward with the help of my 7 yr old
Since I couldn't find any pics online of the c238 with the bars I thought I'd share them here.

Thanks for the photos. How did you order them from the Nederlands? More importantly, how much was the shipping.

Does it fit with the sunroof open?

Bumping this thread to see if anyone has a roof rack and if the sunroof can open with a roof rack installed

Yakima kit doesn't clear the sunroof, nor do the feet match the roof profile despite the Yakima guide saying that they fit the coupe.
