New to me E400 Cabrio

Just picked up a CPO 2018 E400 Cabrio today and am thrilled with this car. It is actually my wifes car but I will drive it occasionally when I get bored with my S550. My question is around the tires. I was under the impression that they put new tires on if they looked worn out. On the drive home today we picked up a nail and went to the friendly Les Schwab tire store and they fixed the tire for free, they also mentioned that the two tires on the passenger side were delaminating on the inner edge and they should be replaced. The two tires on the drivers side look new and the date code is from 2019 so I assume they replaced these but the two on the passenger side look pretty shot. I called my sales guy and he indicated that they measure each tire and if it needs to be replaced they do that. It looks like it got new brakes all around and all the latest services but it only has 19K miles on it so it did not need much. Still looks like a new car. I am hoping the dealer will replace the two old tires but we shall see. Is it unreasonable to get the other two tires replaced?

This and that.
If the dealer states that their policy is to not replace them below a certain level then I doubt there's much you can do about it. That being said, if your relationship with them is good and you're a good customer to them, they maybe swing you a favour. Not much else you can do at this point if they refuse though - unless somehow it's illegal for them to sell the vehicle like that or something I suppose. I am surprised that the brakes and tires would even need replacement that quickly though.

Great car btw, congrats on the purchase.

Congrats on the cabrio, beautiful car. If the tires are delaminating, I'd say that's cause to push the dealer replacement.

Good news, took it to Mercedes of Seattle this week and they are replacing 3 of the 4 tires. One is new so I should have a new set of tires on it when they are done. They are also doing a 4 wheel alignment and fixing a few other little trim things. I guess the CPO paid off in this case and MB of Wilsonville (selling dealer) and MB of Seattle (local dealer) are taking care of all of the issues. Should be like a new car when they are done.

Congrats on the E400. How would you compare the ride quality with your S Class? How much worse is it?

Ride quality is close but not the same as the S. It is a very different experience overall though. The S feels like a much more solid and heavy car while the E is more light and nimble. Engine noise and road noise is also different. The E is just a different experience especially since it is a cabrio. E feels much more sporty and closed in on the inside as well. I guess you could say the E is a bigger C class but probably not a smaller S class.
