Yet ANOTHER problem with my 2019 E450 Cab
So, the NINTH time my $95,000 car has been to the repair shop....
went to close my rag top and it stuck. The driver’s clamp didn’t engage, but the passenger’s did. The portion that rises and falls over the ragtop bay is completely stuck in the open position. And the rear glass portion is also stuck in the up position.
no error displayed, just a scolding that said I needed to completely close the top 🙄
Didnt want to risk damaging it driving too fast down the main highway to the MB dealer so I had to have it towed.
this is beyond infuriating. I have never had this many problems with a car. Ever.
I only wish my state had stricter lemon laws. Although I’m sure even the strictest expire after one year.

My 2019 E400 just had the top stuck with the rear cap open, and it wouldn't continue opening or closing. Before that the strings broke and that whole thing had to be replaced. Also had the two front struts replaced due to clunking. Seriously think I bought the wrong car...

Wow. What a terrible experience. I don’t put on as many miles as you but my 2019 E450 has had no problems and I put the top up and down a lot. Mercedes-Benz should get one of their own people out to look at that. (I hope they have some experts on staff in the US.)
I know any manufacturer can screw up one car but a luxury car company needs to step up and make it right.

The top is not exactly the same as my previous 2011 E550 Cab but very similar, so many years to work out problems.
