2021 c300 Cab. Arrived 7/28/21 . 24 GLE 450e.
The sticker now says Cardinal Red. Don’t know if it’s the same color. But it’s close. I guess the C series doesn’t get the fancy name.

Interesting? Cardinal and Patagonia reds are supposedly different shades. The 22 I have on order is Patagonia. Darn hard to see any difference in photos or videos. I saw a video a few months ago that had the 3 MB reds next to each other. Cardinal and Patagonia were nearly identical to my eyes.

I believe that Cardinal Red is darker and has more of an orange mix than Patagonia. I love Jupiter Red, which is the brightest of the three.

Update 4 or 5: I’ve lost track. Mid- Jan build still on track with a mid-Feb delivery. A bit of good news, MB “allowed” multi-contour seats (massaging) to be added to Jan/Feb builds so that option was added to my build.

Apparently my build survived a couple of rounds of just plain cancelled orders. Dealer still only has 2 build allocations for E450 Coupes. Mine and one other.

What a world, what a world!

'22 E450 Cab Order Canceled, Tesla Model S; Telluride
Well, good news, and bad news for me. My 22 (originally 21) E450 Cab that I ordered in April finally was put on a vessel heading for Long Beach CA (via Panama Canal). I wanted to confirm that my original deal ($2350 below invoice) was still in effect. And much to my non-surprise, "market conditions" now dictate that they charge me $2000 OVER Invoice. My net increase after sales tax has jumped by almost $10,000 (monthly payment would increase by approx $175)! They stated that the "Costco discount" was no longer being offered. This is complete BS, I know of the chip shortage and just because the CAN charge more, doesn't mean that they SHOULD charge more on an order placed 6 months ago and stated that they "don't play games". I still have a month before the vehicle arrives and will see if they budge at all. I fear that they won't and I'll just have to simply give up my order (which they will probably sell right away!).

I'd comment on every social media platform that dealer is on about their tactics. Hopefully they honor your deal. Even if they do, I'd never use that dealer again.

Unfortunately, unless you have it in writing, you may not have a leg to stand on. You may not have a leg to stand on anyway. Has the invoice price gone up that much? I guess I’m feeling better about my deal. I guess I would contact Costco. They may not offer the discount now but, they did when you ordered it. That may be in breach of contract with Costco. Costco may not appreciate that.

Well I do have it in "email" but they are trying to squirm out of original pricing seeing it was a 21 converted to a 22 and "market conditions". Called Costco Auto and they did confirm that that dealer does not have a discount on the E450 Cab, so I guess I wasn't lied to but the dealer should still honor their original commitment seeing as I've been waiting for 6 months. I'll just confirm again once the vehicle hits the port (tracking the vessel). I'm sure they are simply being greedy and know that there will be someone else willing to pay top dollar. If it falls through, I'll never do business with that dealership (Fletcher Jones) again!

Update Stardate 12473: Build moved UP to December 21 with delivery in Jan 22. The only “delete” currently showing is D9B. Credit for missing standard hands free access.

Soon be getting my car.
The two thousand dollar discount that was promised of my '21 order that became a '22 car order was dropped.
Full Retail price to be charged.
The trade-in offer for my car went up two thousand, but Edmunds lists it's value up 4 to 5 thousand.
Don't like it,...there's a virtual line behind you clamoring for the car waving cash at the dealer.

It is what it is.

You won't be getting hands free access? Will they put it in the car later?

I can’t imagine not having hands free access. The only time I take the FOB out is to pop the trunk.

This is for opening the trunk only (foot under the rear bumper). Won’t be added later. $100 credit on the build. Not a big deal to me.

Boy, that clarifies things. I thought you would be pressing the FOB to get into the car.

My 2022 E450 4-Matic Coupe has finally arrived. Ordered May 10. No HANDSFREE ACCESS to the truck (kick under bumper), but we knew that. No Hermes communications module, but we knew that too.

They deleted Augmented Reality for Nav. I kind of knew that. I say kind of, because although the build sheet didn't say it was there, the build sheet still had the $350 in the price of the car. So the dealer was saying it probably was in there, but it isn't.

I feel lucky that I ONLY lost Augmented Vid and HANDSFREE trunk. And feel extra lucky that I ONLY have to pay full retail price.

Any they only raised the lease rates by half a percent or so.

Lucky lucky lucky.

Now I just have to wait up to two weeks for them to get the car registered before I can drive it home. Note I still have to get started paying the lease and insurance though.

If this car isn't AWESOME I'm going to feel like I made a huge mistake.

My dealer told me that many of the cars are now coming through exactly like that. Press the Fob to get into the car.

Where are you that dealer has to register the car? That doesn’t make any sense.

2017 mercedes GLE 43 coupe
I was told that the Coupe & Cabriolet are made in a separate factory.

I asked the dealer if the cars he's gotten in recently have the Hermes module in & he said yes.
I think Mercedes must be installing the current models with the limited number of Hermes modules,& the coupe/cabriolet retrofits will stay on the back burner until there is a surplus of chips again.Doesn't seem right but there it is.

Speaking of 'doesn't seem right' & 'lucky lucky'....

After waiting since January ,I picked up my E53 coupe yesterday afternoon from the dealer, drove home & parked it in the garage.
Took it out this morning to the chiropractor,&on leaving traveled about 20 yards before I was rear-ended.

I called 911 with the screaming drivers voice in the background who wanted to 'just exchange insurance info & leave.
She had 2 toddlers in the back & I wanted to make sure the cop sees no one was injured. While waiting 3/4 hour for the cop, she calls her dad to come over.
I was third in line to the intersection when she hit my stopped car with her Hyundai. Then was yelling she can't stay & was rushing to get her kid to school (didn't look older then 3)

The cop finally arrives & she tells him there was no one in front of me, that I pulled out into traffic, then reversed back in front of her.
He said she rear-ended me & that was that.

I called her Insurance from info on the cops traffic report .The insurance agent said no Hyundai is listed for that policy number,& even after investigation if it turns out valid, the policy is only for $5,000.
Of course the rear bumper area is packed with electronics. I'm sure that would cover diddly-squat & it will end up coming off my insurance policy (rate increase now?)

Lucky-lucky?

Not for me.

I feel your pain. I was backed into with 3,000 miles on my car. Only rear bumper damaged. However Active blind spot is out. Body shop can’t get to it until end of January. Not the dealer. They have a 3rd party come in to calibrate the sensors.
