Ordered a 2022 E450 cabriolet

Ordered a 2022 E450 cabriolet
Finally after much deliberation I signed the purchase order for a 2022 E450 cabriolet in Rubellite red with a dark red roof and Designo macchiato beige interior . I got a very reasonable deal with about a 4% discount off MSRP and delivery is expected anywhere from August to November depending on the usual variables plus Covid . Delivery date shown on PO is October 15 2021 . Apparently the only changes from 2021 to 2022 are a couple of new colours and probable price increase . I'm very happy and excited !

Thanks Teksurv , yes with new vehicles I always take dozens of pics just to get it out of my system . The only uncertainty with this car is the availability of the 10 spoke wheels which I ordered . We agreed to wait and see what's available and act accordingly . Also some wheels require the night package ,so that may have to be added as well , but no big deal either way .

My current C43 has the cranberry red interior , but I went with the brilliant blue exterior after much deliberation . My E450 is different again ,red with red top and beige/red interior .

There are a couple of threads regarding the MY2022 delivery ,one on this forum and one on the W213 AMG forum . I believe there is a new blue paint replacement and new white paint .

Just ordered a 2022 E450 Cabriolet. Like Elvis all I got was a receipt for the deposit. Odd way to do business but the car market and business is very odd in the south right now.

I just ordered a 450 e convertible with a new color - Moonlight White and Designo Beige interior with Red dash, side trim and piping on the seats. Don't know when it will arrive since dealer does not have any allocations yet. I got a receipt for my deposit to get on a waiting list.

Hi C6Jeff , yes looks like we have the same tastes ! The only difference is your AMG having 20 inch wheels and the trim where I chose the gloss dark brown ash for more contrast with the beige . I've heard nothing on delivery after 4 months and given all the recent correspondence regarding shortages etc ,I'm not expecting any progress until early 2022 . I'm also paying attention to the news of the expected CLE in 2023 , which may be the choice if things don't work out with the E450 or E53 . I guess we are in uncharted territory for sure !

Finally my dealer has an allocation for my 2022 E450 cabriolet , 8 months after the initial 2021 order ! The expected build date is March 2023 with delivery in May . The only changes from the original order are the deletion of the massage seats ( no surprise ) and a change from the Designo red / macchiato beige interior to the nappa grey /macchiato beige . I was surprised and disappointed in this change , but apparently the Designo interior is no longer available . Having waited this long and knowing that the cabs are in their final year , I accepted the build as being close enough to my original request and am looking forward to be getting what may be the last of the breed , notwithstanding the possibility of a CLE in Canada in the future . BTW , the exterior of my build remains as before - rubellite red with dark red soft top and 10 spoke 19 inch wheels and no night package .

Splunge, I am happy for you, even though it's taken so long. I'm sad for you that your designo interior will not be available. The grey and beige is nice too, but the one you selected really was suited to the red car with red roof. Hope it all come earlier than May.

Finally some encouraging news re my E450 cabrio order .
The Canadian 2022 configurator came on line this month and it confirmed the deletion of the Designo interior which I ordered originally . I then noticed that the massage seat package ,which my dealer and everyone else said was no longer available ,was shown with no restrictions .
Called my dealer and got the good news : Build date April 19 , est delivery date June 3 and yes , magically the massage seats are now available !
I don't want to get my hopes up too much with all this as I know these are crazy times , but after nearly one year I am getting excited !
