C238 CoupeAmbient Lighting
Help will be appreciated!
My 2018 C238 is overall a great machine. Getting it serviced is not so much fun.
Tuesday afternoon, after 5 weeks in the shop, I picked up my Coupe. It had been in the dealers shop to deal with a section of ambient lighting to the left and below the steering wheel. The problem was clear - periodically this section of the light strip would simply stop working. The service rep acknowledged he could see the problem.
Long story short, after driving several blocks from the dealer, the light strip to the right of the steering wheel disappeared leaving the strips to continue to be lit and at full brilliance. Having had a few days to experience the subtles of this gremlin, it appears to be an issue of changing intensity. The door lighting strips never fail to be bright and consistent. Not true of the section to the right of the steering wheel. This strips light varies from somewhat visible to not visible at all. All the while, the two door strips remain perfectly brilliant.
Does anyone have any experience with this ambient light gremlin?
