Top stuck in half opened position AGAIN
Currently on hold for 20 minutes and counting for MB roadside assistance. Does it usually take this long to get "emergency roadside assistance" on the phone? Don't want to drive it at 45-50mph on the roads to the dealership becuase it'd be WAY over 31mph you're supposed to be able to drive while moving the top. It'd probably put too much stress on the part that's sticking up.
Anyone else ever had this problem?

It happened as I was waiting for my wife after backing out, & with the car in reverse, foot on brake, I opened the top & at the same time thought it safer to put car in park. I pressed P while the roof was opening & it all froze up! Infuriating & as well, no access to trunk as the trunk lid couldn't be opened & seats fixed.
Grrr.. hope you got your problem sorted easily !

When the tow truck got to the dealer I had two people witness that it wasn’t responding. Good thing I did because when the tech started the car the next morning IT WORKED PERFECTLY! Again (did it last time)
of course they said the computer logs showed no errors (they always say that).
in the end, they said they recalibrated the open and close positions with the computer on all the mechanical parts.
I guess it will work until it does this again.
jumpman726 posted this fix last year and it worked for my car tonite.
TLDR: wait 10 mins, fiddle with the rear window switches which might do a reset and then try raising/lowering your top (I had to lower mine first)

Until now, I have never seen anybody have anything negative to say about BenzNinja or really any other vendor on this forum.
I have thought on more than one occasion of giving him a call and seeing what he could potentially do for me. My only for instance is to make the car in the heads up display in our GLS back to Blue that a dealership had somehow screwed up sometime ago. Gravy on the cake.
my reality is I am blessed that I have a local Mercedes Certified mechanic that I can turn to in all arenas of car things when I am in over my head. I am blessed he lets me do the majority of my own work and saves my butt when I get something wrong. Granted a lot of this is geography but I am so blessed that I have the ability to drive about six blocks from my home and have an absolute expert who knows everything about my vehicles just fix the weird s***.
this whole deal with the OP and Ben's ninja will certainly blow over. I get the feeling that the victor at the end of this argument will be Peter. Honestly, if anything it gives me more desire to do business with him because he and I seem to be of like mind.

I already scoped out the extra space under the lower trunk storage area. Looks like a bit of additional space there due to un-installed options.
