hi
I currently have Mercedes Benz E220D coupe 2019. the car thinks the boot is open when it's not. the boot is locked and secure.
• car thinks boot is open despite it being closed•
• car will close and lock but Mercedes me app still says “luggage compartment is still open”
• reverse camera will not open because car thinks boot is open.
• key fob button won’t open boot because it still thinks boot is open.
•only way to open boot is press the Mercedes logo on the back or the button inside the car
•while driving the warning will disappear sometimes and everything will fix itself and camera will work. Sometimes warning will stay on consistently or it will go on and off constantly
I can lock the car at night and won't be able to open the boot but it still thinks its open
car won't do triple indicator flash to confirm car it has lock
now recently (especially at 3am) car decides that boot is now closed. then 5 minutes later it thinks boot is open so the alarm of the car goes off because it thinks someone has broken into the boot
if anyone knows the problem. all help is appreciated
thank you
Check lock harness connection if fine, disconnect for several minutes in an attempt to reset. If this fails, stored codes may need to be cleared, current pulled, and/or reset using Xentry (MB diagnostics) worst case scenario lock needs replacement. Provide VIN if you what part #.

hey mate, so I didn't go to Mercedes. I went to authorised garage which charged me £100 to diagnose the problem and find out what was the actual problem. £100 for part which they got directly from Mercedes (but I don't know if they actually got the part from them) and a £100 for labour. the total was £300. They fixed it same day. so I'm not sure if that's a good price or not because I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem
