Help identifying Assist Symbol meaning…
Thanks for helping…I have read manual and searched internet but still unable to find info on dash symbol that comes up when Assist display is active. The symbol is a Car with a Circle around it as I approach another vehicle…cannot find symbol meaning anywhere.
Thanks in advance.

If the icon has the car outline viewed from above, it means that one of the assist features has been disabled or is not functioning.

That car in a circle means you're getting close to the car in front.
With the clever version of cruise control active, you'd not see that as the car would be maintaining what it considers a safe distance at all times.
In this case, because the car in front is not that close to the "safe separation zone" (my term), I wonder if it's reacting to a speed differential, implying the car ahead is slowing and if no action is taken, will intrude into the safe separation zone.
Honestly it would be a great help if the real info in the manual was not buried in pages of stuff written by the lawyers.
I've spent over 4 decades working with very complicated vehicle systems and can work out most of what my vehicle is trying to do / tell me, but still struggle from time to time with unexpected display behavior. I do sympathise with those who haven't got that background, especially as asking a dealer doesn't seem to be very helpful.
Perhaps we should have a "what does this display mean?" dedicated thread and I'll commit to answering as many as I can.

Exactly, you were approaching at a higher velocity than the stopped vehicle. You were moving, it was stopped.

Dave_n_s - agree completely, but with all the obvious info in the manuals (agree needed solely for legal purposes), I would hope/expect they show all features of these complex systems. The dealers have no idea how to program, use, optimize, etc. I learned how to set up and use all the features via YouTube videos! Thanks for responding.
