Which parts to replace during engine/tranny swap?
I'm enlisting someone to replace the engine and tranny in my 82 300DT. I will be present and probably lend a hand. ( It is actually a partial swap, with the
"bad" engine being sat in the source vehicle, my 84 300DT, which will also be a parts car, and rolled away for scrap when I've gotten what I needed from it).
I realize I need to go ahead and replace the motor mounts and transmission mounts while this is being done. I have been advised to also put new radiator hoses on, and it has also been suggested that I just go ahead and do the water pump too while I am at it. What about the engine shock? This could go on forever, and I don't want to replace every single hose, line, nut, and bolt just because I have access if some of them are not necessary. However, I do want to be prudent and replace related parts and accessories that are considered standard for an engine /tranny replacement.
Any suggestions or advice on what parts you would replace right off the bat, and what parts deserve close inspection once the engine is lifted, would be greatly appreciated.

Replace only whats needed. MAW (might as well) disease is highly infectious and expensive to cure.
Coolant, radiator hoses, engine mounts and oil cooler hoses (if they are even so much as seeping) are all that I'd replace.

Careful with those cooler hoses. The upper one is usually always pretty easy to get off but that lower is never fun. Then you'll be replacing the cooler too.
Also, change fuel filters and inspect vacuum lines. Changing flex discs should also be considered.
