300d with 10mm plungers!

So, I have recently become aware that you can use the plungers from an early dt466 with an mw pump in my 300d. I have checked on parts and it will be just over $100 from the chinese manufacturer. This is to cheap to pass up! What I am wondering is how big a turbo i will need to put on and not have a crap load of lag while still being able to make this thing streetable! Or what about a compound turbo setup? How much hp is safe? If anyone has any advice or is well versed in the world of mw pumps please chime in! Any advice would be great.

The whole project sounds overly optimistic.
Before you start sinking a lot of money into your project I would visit the supreturbodiesel site and spend a lot of time reading.

You cannot just take apart your Fuel Injection Pump and install the new Elements (Plungers and Barrels). Each one of the Elements needs to be timed to the Fuel Injection Pump Camshaft and the Fuel Injection Pump goes on a very expensive Calibration Machine so that the Fuel quantity for each of the Elements can be set. (Rebuilding an a Fuel Injection Pump is about $1000.)
Anyway do some research before you plunge into anything.

Beyond that I have read that the clearences between the Plunger and the Barrels on the made in China ones tends to be sloppy and erattic.

I am not well versed in MW Fuel Injection Pumps but a long time ago I used to work in a Diesel Fuel Injection Shop.

I have already talked to someone who works on bosch pumps on the side and has a pump bench to calibrate it. My only concern is drivability, with the rack adjusted so much. I am supposed to talk with him later in the week. He used to work at Scheid diesel.

They have a very poor reputation with car pumps.

The superturbodiesel fourm would be a better source of information for mods to the Fuel Injection Pump.
