1993 300CE Sportline
power steering since at least late 60's

I have a 1967 230S w/ power steering, in fact the reservoir looks very similar to the one in my 1993, why change a good thing? I'm curious why you are asking.

You're going to have to look far and wide to find a car without power steering.

Mercedes are noted for having pretty good "feel" in their power steering.

Unlike some other cars where it's light as a feather, i.e. with no feel.

Most think that's better.

was the first post edited or something?

all mercedes sold in this country in probably hte last 20 years or more have had power steering

a non power steered 124 was available in other markets. qucker ratio(no assist) but a b!tch to park and at low speeds.

exactly what are the symptoms of your steering maladies?

nothin too bad, just much harder to steer than my old 91 300ce. it seemed a bit easier today, once i opened the power steering fluid reservoir to check if there was fluid in there. sounded like a vacuum when i opened it, so i closed it back up and steering was easier.
