went and saw the car yesterday. all the shaving/welding body work has been done as well as engine bay/door jams/gas tank painted black. still waiting for the kit then the car gets fully painted and we're done!

i received the avantegarde grille and red/clear LED tails so that'll be installed. ill put up my 95 tails for sale if anyone wants them (shamless plug).

ordering suspension this afternoon. if i can squeeze w202/208 coilovers on, ill run that setup. if not, ill continue with my custom setup and have the shop install them while its in there.

pix to come soon. internet is down at my house, so im at work for the time being.

next: ordering wheels =)

Nice Update.

Save those taillights for Christian aka Norcal124 and he'll probably pick up those taillights from you.

the kit is in transit from japan, then to me. hoping by the end of the month. ordering my wheels and shocks at the end of the week, just bought the extreme fender spacer from calie320, springs went on yesterday.

the car is coming along a lot faster than i had imagined, which is really cool.

im going back soon to take pix of the car with the suspension on.

Are you using those fender spacers on the regular w124 fender or with the 500E? Also since you have those spacers does this mean you can go wider with rims?

i ended up using my stock fenders. i was going to run flares to replicate the 500e but i think id get tired of it. im going for more of a conservative look. the fender spacers allow me to run lower offsets which will be nice because my car will be REALLY low.

very nice... definitely shaping up to be the best one on the boards, without a doubt...

do the fender spacers cause there to be a bigger gap between the hood and the fender?

wow, man. That looks fantastic. A couple of questions for you-

What was all that body filler for? I guess you shaved the antenna, but is the rest of it there to fill in dents? Jeeze, you must've had an unfair share of door dings!!

Second question, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for all of the body work and paint? I considered doing this some time ago, but knew that I'd have to go all out like you in order to be happy. And it was WAY out of my budget!

Congrats, man. That paint looks like a mirror!

thanks =)

the filler was minor surface dents through out. prior to buying the car i looked all around and saw 2 noticable dings, but nothing else. my body man is a perfectionist so he leveled the whole car and found the smallest dings. now theyre gone.

the body shop doing mine also did my wrx and all my friends car. he builds all the show winners/magazine cars through texas so hes pretty well known. since it was bentley back (16 layers of blacks and pearls) plus all of the body work, it'd cost a regular person somewhere around $5000. but since i bring him a lot of business, we help eachother out. i shaved a lot of things. including the antenna, emblems, etc. every possible little eyesore.

still waiting on the wald kit and wald foglights. i got hids for the fogs as well as my headlights. also the avantegarde grille was installed but i didnt get any pix of the front because my gf took the pix. i was talking to him about my suspension.

should be done in the shop around mid august. wheels take 3 months to arrive. damn special order.

Yo bro, let me ask you something -

How does the old girl fair against the likes of the newer units you've dealt with? You know quality, details, reliability?

How does the benz rate?

every car has its ups and downs.

most reliable = honda
fastest/funnest = subaru
coolest to drive = old porsche
benz = i dunno.

i love the benz so far but i drove it 2 days before it went into the shop. i did a lot of research before i picked it up, so i have high expectations. i just love that im doing somehting different, not like every civic out there.
