The sound is a very civilized deep & low, Remus is known for this. I'm also very glad with it cuz it's the wife's daily driver (I drive a van for work) and she'd want it removed if it sounded like a rally-car all the time!

My fuel economy seems to have slightly improved! Second tank of gas is in use now so I'll get back on this later...

Car and Driver said in their 91 issue that the 400E was especially restricted, more so than its other 4.2 liter m119 cousins. I've considered a muffler swap for that reason (also silencer removal, its heavy and by some reports redundent). If AMG still has theirs available I may hold out but hmmm... better mileage right now You can get a Remus off Amazon.
