Parting 1990 300TE 55kw124 Red on Palomino

In chassis specific forums, I figure people actually will see it and be able to get their bargains.

So Here is the car:

Parting out a 1990 300TE. It has 55k on it with front end hit. The engine wasnt hit only the fan.
The tailgate is in prime shape, the lock, the wiper all work on there. No rust whatsoever. Small piece of interior trim broken but thats all.

Rest of the car is in decent shape, interior is dirty but its all cleanable and it could look really nice. Exterior is faded but a polish on any of those parts should bring the signal red back to shine, fenders are good, doors good.

Tons of pictures at:
http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/ptoro02/

Let me know what you need along with your zip code and I will quote you a price and shipping as well.

Email is ptoro02@yahoo.com
Or cell phone 303-845-0116, Peter.

Peter

you tell me. The family who I got it from had about 8 dogs running around inside, 5 ferrets and atleast 3 cats along with rabbits and god knows what else. Their other "better cars" as they called it included a corsica and a really old suburban. Its received very little care cosmetically. Oh yeah, need I mention that 3 of 4 kids were goths driven by the oldest kid. No wonder 3 of 4 wheels are bent badly.

Rough life for this wagon. Time to part it out and fix up my 2 w124s along the way.

Altho without body damage it would be worth fixing up. A complete detail could make this thing shine.

So you're saying there's a lot of white make-up smeared on everything and a bunch of marilyn manson cds in there?

i need a pair of really small parts... two screws... in your picture i put the link to below, do you see the little black plastic piece on the edge of the door, that the door latches onto the car with? I need the screws that hold that piece to the door, i need one for each side! I'm missing those screws, and so the black pieces are just sitting in my center console and it bothers me. i know it's hardly wirth the bother, but let me know if you'd be willing to ship them... cheers man

Don't the TE's have metal rear swaybar end-links rather plastic ones? If so, I would be interested in those

The steel ones are zinc-plated round tubing (can check with a magnet). The plastic ones are a square shape (molded with webbing). The plastic ones connect to the swaybar with a small ball joint whereas the steel ones are bolted to the swaybar through a bushing. I'm in Southern Ca. for shipping (92121). Thanks.

samoan, its that piece less the tape, same color everything.

Ron, The engine should be removed within the next month. I have to figure out if its good or not. The rad was pushed back but the fan still moves so I need to see whats the damage. Also if it was run after the accident or not. I will get back to you on engine condition.

simoan_ridah, I received your payment and the part will be in the mail on monday. Thank you very much. Whats the removal procedure on these as to not break clips? Also did you need small clips, specific nuts and bolts that I can include.

300evo, I havent been able to determine which sway bar end it has but Im still looking. Do you know if this has the standard 300e sway bar with different ends or is it a totally different sway bar.

Ron_in_SC, theres significant oil in the coolant lines. I strongly think it has a blown headgasket at best. Were you looking for a low mileage M103 or something low mileage to restore before putting in?

It's only the end links that I am after. As far as the bar itself, I think the shape and length should all be standard W124. They probably tuned it for a certain diameter for the application and therefore it may have a different part number (based on year & model). Thanks.

Whatever you can get I'll take. I don't know too much about the piece. I'll try to take a look at it right now. I also need the cover plate on the far left vent outlet directly on the left of the steering column and instrument cluster. I don't know if that can be popped off without breaking but if you can include that I'll pay for it. Thanks.

Samoan_ridah, I was able to remove the cover and its in great shape. If you want the vent on the far left, I can include that for an additional $20.

300evo, I do believe a magnet stuck to it and it looked different than the plastic ones I see on my other 300e. If it is ok, I would rather wait until I tackle that part of the car. At this point, I havent taken anything off yet that would make it undriveable back and forth.

Need two Thumbscrew Fasteners

Hi Peter, I need the two thumscrew fasteners that hold the intake grille screen in place. (This is to access the fan blower motor). They are located behind the engine, at the firewall as per the middle picture attached. The third pic shows you what they look like.

I would buy them at the dealer but neither the dealer nor I can find the part number : (

I have a US mailing address (zip code 98230) to make it easier for you. PM me.

the honeycomb things that hold up the firewall insulation? $7.50 with shipping to either of your addresses. Its just as easy to ship it up to Canada in a padded envelope.

No, it's a bolt with a big plastic head on it, probably about 1-1.5" in diameter, so that you can unscrew the bolt by hand without any tools, since there is hardly any room between the back of the engine and the front of the firewall. The second pic of the three shows someone grabbing the head with his fingers.

Located on the engine side of the firewall, behind the engine.

There should be two of them.

You need to uncrew them, remove two other 8mm (I think) bolts, and 2 white plastic clips to take the intake grille screen off like so:

That's fine. The car could still be moved around without the bar hooked up but whatever is easiest for you. Just PM me when you're ready would probably be best. Thanks again.
