wow noone around you will/can do it? I have a place that did it while doing the major tune up last mth, I would think that whatever shop you take the car to for service that you can't do yourself should be able to do it...
http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/Trans7226Fluid
there is a link to a DIY on mercedesshop.com
apparently even though it says that it's from a '97 C230 there is a guy in a thread who links to it, that says that is the same tranny...

Its really simple....
Remove the drain bolt, its an allen, let it drain. Then turn the engine over with a 27mm socket at the crank until the Tconverter shows its allen drain plug, remove and then reinstall. Torque specs are low and just enough for it to be tight, dont pull much more when the bolt stops.
Then remove the tranny pan, 6 bolts (10mm), remove the filter, flat thing right there, that another 3 bolts(8mm), put the new one in. Change the gasket and bolt the pan back up. Figure out how much fluid your tranny takes, pour in half and start the car with the parking brake on. Let it warm up and then shift into drive for 5 seconds, Reverse for 5 seconds, then to park, check fluid. Repeat this until fluid level is good and tranny actually engages, it wont with low fluid at the start but dont pour in all of it either as you could damage seals before the Tconverter gets full.
Good luck and check it for leaks once you get done with it and drive it 10 minutes once the fluid seems right and recheck while the engine is running and warm.
good luck
Pete

dude, I love the s-class. especially the w140 and w126 (in that order). I plan on owning one some day, preferrably a long wheel base version.

I hear you, I love the S-class as well.
The w220 in the pic is SO freakin' comfortable...I love those seats!
but I think the w221 and the w140 are superior cars because of the build quality...but that's just me.
