EX is a add on lip kit along with sideskirts.
V4 is full replacement of front and rear bumpers and is VERY aggressive.

EX
The EX kit you need the 94-95 bumpers to make it fit perfectly and clean. The front lip will work fine on 86-93 W124's but not so much in the rear.

If I were you, I'd go for the EX. I know it's less agressive, but you can buy a replica of the front add-on piece (the are on ebay, and smokiesman on this forum has bought one). Since it doesn't hang down as low as the V4, you don't have to worry about the quality of the materials quite as much because it's much less likely to hit the curb. Side skirts and the rear bumper can be purchased as replicas since they are less proned to damage as well.
So although it's less agressive-looking, my guess is that you could save a lot of money going the EX route.

Anyone in here ever wanted to just custom fiberglass a kit? I mean... I seen one episode that had Chip Foose in it and he made a custom kit. They used the stock bumper and added clay.. but has anyone ever consider doing this? Instead of 2k for a bodykit?

There's 2 ways of looking at body kits.
Buy the real deal, initially pay a little more, and have top quality, perfect fitment and your bill from the body shop be lower since prep and paint were straight forward.
Or go the replica route, pay not that much less for the kit, have fitment issues, a lot higher bill for the prep and paint.
In the end it's probably cheaper to go with the real thing. I learned the hard way. Last year I paid $1500 for the Wald V4 kit for my cabrio from The Wheel Supply. If you go on the Autoblz website the replica kit is $1200. Personally, an extra $300 is a small price to pay for having no head aches.
Just my 2 cents

I didn't realize that the authentic Wald kit was so cheap and the replica was so expensive! In that case, it definitely makes more sense to buy the real one.
