EBAY wheels Pics

THis weekend was quite an adventure! Installed the list below:

-Bilstein Sport struts and shocks
-18" Carlsson replica wheels ($150.00) Brand new from Ebay. BEST DEAL EVER!!!
-Wanli 225/40/ZR18 tires - ($205.00) Brand new from Ebay. Actually really nice tires.
-Vogtland Springs - the front actually settled out to the point where the front rim was tucking 1/16" into the fender, it would rub on teh top of the fender well on every little bump, so I had to rais it about 3/4", but damn it looked good that low!

Now all I need is my headlight, fender, grill, and some paint!!! Tell me what yalll think.

Suggestions on paint colors?

I'd replace both headlights while I'm at it. Maybe some Euro's? or something. For paint I'd do black So black you can't see it at night , but that's just me, hehe. *loves really really dark/shiny black*

I'd stick with the original color, nothing wrong with it, respray is one thing, but color changes are a *****.

I LOVE those wheels!!!! Wanli tires, sounds like chineese, I try to limit chineese parts on my benz, actually the headlights are the only parts that are probably made in china, or asia. Hope those work out ok.

If you do a repaint, consider painting the lower body panels and bumpers to match, or paint the impact strips to match so they arent black. Little things make a big difference. I think the color you have now will look quite stunning when it is straight, and clean and if you get new tail lights(no yellow) and clear turn signals.

no offense crr, but I'm not digging the white/black theme.

Bigbronco, definitely focus your funds on getting your body damage issues sorted out first. I'm sure that's what you are thinking with the whole respray thing.

If you want to update the look of your car, definitely stick with the original color and color-match the lower panels and impact strips. It's not going to cost you any more money if you're already respraying the entire thing. Just a thought.

Your car will look cheap if you change the color, unless you pull the engine and strip the car down completely. That's nearly impossible.

The rims/suspension setup look dope. Did you roll the fenders? I can almost guarantee that will make a big difference. You might also consider installing smaller spring pads in the back, since it looks like your car sits higher in the rear. But I'd wait a few months before doing that because your springs will definitely settle. Great job!

Thanks pete! Yeah the body work will all get done when I respray teh car....just waiting for the temp and humidity to get right to spray it. I am going to be building a pretty stought sub enclosure, i am laminatting two 3/4" sheets of MDF together adn making a sub enclosure, so that will bring the rear of the car down some. If I dont do that im thingking about fiberglassing one of teh side panels in the trunk and making a custom enclosure there.

Pete, what size speakers go in the doors??? Mine dont have any installed, just a hole from the factory.

you know, my car didn't come with door speakers. But word is that they can hold a 6.5" speaker. I'm not positive about that though. It's made for sub, but it's a crappy plastic enclosure. However, it might be there to protect the speaker from moisture in the door.

Good idea to wait on the rear suspension until you put the box in. IMO, when you do your system, you should take your rear speakers out of the deck and leave the grills. That will let the sound through better if you don't feel like doing a hack job like I did! lol. Even then, you might struggle to get enough sound into the cabin unless you do 2 subs. I'm all for the fiberglass enclosures behind the wheel wells- IMO wood boxes take up way too much trunk space. They're way easier to make, though.

18x8 with a 35 backspace. tires are 225/40ZR18. Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. I was skeptical on the wheels because the price, but when I got them I would have paid 3 times the price for another set!!! If anyone wants the link for the store on eBay let em know, they have a few different styles of wheels for our cars. I believe they have some BBS LM style wheels the other day in 18" and 19".

In the States paint is getting really expensive with rising petro chemical costs. A decent paint job will cost 3,000 USD and up, so in Jamaican Currency that is like 2-3lbs of Marijuana

I wish I had some clearcoat left to buff and sand. This thing was parked under a pine tree for a few years adn the sap ate the clearcoat right off!

Let me tell everyone a little bit of background on the car. It is a 1990 with 200k+...odometer quit working the other day. The car was owned by a doctor in town, he died and it stayed parked under a pine tree for about 3 years until his widow decided to trade it in on a cadillac (what a mistake). Unbeknowing to her in those 3 years teh brake pads had rusted to teh calipers in the open position so as she was driving it to the "stealership" to trade it in she hit the brakes and they didint work sufficiently, so she rear ended a "truck". Thus giving it the damage you see on the headlight and fender. She made it to the dealer adn traded it, where I then bought it off the dealer b4 it got loaded onto teh auction truck for about $1000. I now have about $250 total in the brakes (work great) and $550 in the wheels and tires considering the old tires were shot from dry rot.

I think I got a fair deal.
