I run a Magnaflow two into one cat, 3" pipe, no resonator and a Magnaflow rear muffler, sounds like a Corvette, no resonance, quiet at cruise also.

Well I did it... I ended up with a nice sounding system somewhat quiet with a way deeper tone.I'm not fond of the installation though. They made the tips too short and theres some pipes behind the tips that are exposed that shouldve been polished they just painted silver.I also think that its sitting a tad low, maybe some smaller rubber bands will lift it up some and knockout two birds with one stone.
I dont understand how they ****ed up this simple install and have so many cars featured in magazines....I guess *money talks bull**** walks*
The owner has a E500 thats sounds so sick..

I just got a flowmaster put in today and had my resonator taken out and it sounds good... You can't hear it inside the cabin, but it doesn't sound like a Merc. Sounds more American for sure. But I would say that I really like it. You can notice a little bit more juice.

I'll put some up tomorrow. It's too dark to go take any tonight. I don't like how it looks though. The tips are too far out. But I love the sound and the better throttle response.

Dude, don't settle for bull**** muffler work on your benz, ESPECIALLY from another benz owner, that is F'ed. Take it back until they get it right. Just because it isn't a new benz doesn't mean it doesn't deserve good work. Mufflers/pipes/welding has a bit of an art to it, but it ain't no rocket science.
Good luck!

Don't feel bad, I had to supervise my exhaust installation and provide specific directions on how I wanted the rear muffler installed, where the tips were to be located, how close to the bumper, how far they stick out from the bumper etc. etc. When it was all said and done, I used high temp black exhause manifold paint and painted all the pipe and muffler, leaving just the polished SS tips.

Hey, that's not soo bad! I'd paint the muffler black too leaving the SS tips alone. I opted not to get tips for now so I just painted everything black to hide the muffler etc.
