I love taking this car on the widey back roads around my house because they are like euro style roads with circle intersections.

I like winding roads too, but I think I could touch the ground with my thumb due to bad shocks and body roll...ugh. I gotta get that fixed. Bilsteins and sway bars, here I come!!!!

I wish I had the 20k it deserves. On my list of cars to buy in the next decade, I have these two: 1994 500E and ANY AMG W124. Its too bad, that when I found one of these, I am not prepared to buy . Besides, they are about the same price too. 500E's are quite pricey for 15 year old cars. I really hope someone finds this car and understands its true value. The only problem is, some people need the damn German government to deem in authentic before they buy it. What can you do>

Well the spec sheet is authenticated by MB germany. I seem to be talking about my car on 2 forums, oh well more publicity i guess..... Another thing I notice is that the people questioning the car have just researched rather then have had their hands on the car. AMG was quirky back in the day and had all type of mods.

I think you have done all you can to prove authenticity, I just hope someone else sees that. Like I said, and Shadowgriffen said as well, your best bet is selling to a car collector in your area so they can inspect it.

Judging from that list, the car came from the factory as a 300E with a bunch of AMG options. To say it's an AMG car when it was never touched by AMG techs or had ever been at the AMG plant is questionable. Also the problem is most people only think of the Hammer, E36 and E60, as true W124 AMG's since they had the full mod package including engine, suspension and aesthetics.

This car is no more an AMG than a 300E with 500E seats at the factory is a 500E.

Beautiful car nonetheless

So you are telling me that because it came frome the factory in germany where they collaborated with AMG, and because the engine wasn't changed that the car is not AMG.... So where is your AMG car then, and how will you prove the stuff is authentic if its not on the factory option list?

Your car cannot be sold as an AMG car at AMG prices.

what you dont seem to realize is that the japanese car are modded after market by AMG. Now the reason why the vin plates are changed are because the engines are modded. Most of the japanese car started as 300E standard were shipped to japan and then japan dealers would ship them back to AMG to get a face lift. I have read the threads and half of you are in aggrence with me now and the half are not. That fact of the matter is that this car is in my possession, and I knowing the history of know it can have the stamp of AMG. Just because it doesn't have the engine modded does not mean its not an amg car, its from the factory what more do you want. I dont know if the car was sent to amg while in the factories possession or not, but some how it got all the amg parts on it.

It Is RARE in it's own right.

But it would be truly hard to sell if you classify it as an AMG car.

Like I said if I were you I would classify it as a RARE 300E with AMG exterior/interior styling, as stated by the factory.

Well, if someone wants to call it an AMG car, so be it. I'd say it's just a nice Mercedes w124 300E 24V with a styling package. Similarly BMW were selling some 318ti (3 series compact) with an "M" styling package consisting of different side mouldings, M3 bumper and side skirts, M alloys but the car was a 1.9l 318 compact. It desinately isn't an M# despite having a slightly differen suspension and nicer bumpers.
I suppose the guys here argue that your car is not an AMG (re)manufactured car and I'd agree. What they'd call an AMG car is a vehicle that was upgraded at by AMG to improve performance and (less important) looks. Yours is the other way round - standard engine and transmission and sportier looks. Personally I'd rather have a car with an AMG engine with a 260E badge than a 260E with a full AMG body kit ;-) but everyone is different
And your car is a pretty looking car with a full genuine body kit! Good luck with your sale!

your right about the remanufactured part originally I had no idea about this car and I miss interpretted it on my original ebay listing. Now basically this car has all the option for amg except the engine mod so i dont know what you want from me. half say yes half say no, its not just the body kit and interior its a differnet piped exhaust, and different suspension. I really have a headache over this car and just want to get rid of it and move on.

Not trying to fan the flames but there is only one person in this thread that THINKS it's an authentic AMG besides you. Without facts and proof, his opinion is no more valid than mine. Many of us agree that this great 300E is an AMG kitted (NOTE: Not AMG car) vehicle with other amg parts. I would bet cash that the car never once went to Gossaspach (the "G" in AMG)

Your arguing is not really going to make it authentic, some of us DO know our stuff
