Euro Lens Removal

Hey all, I searched for a while but couldn't come up with anything relevant.

I have some condensation on my passenger side Bosch euro (whoever first installed my HIDs didnt replace the housing door properly grrr) and I want to remove the lens, clean and re-seal it. Does anyone have the instructions/special tips to removing the lens properly? Do we have to remove the headlight completely? Instructions would be much appreciated and I plan on using clear silicone to re-seal the euro.

Thanks in advance, your comments are appreciated..

I did this yesterday when i replaced my broken lens. There are 4 clips holding the lens on. Two on top and two below. These clips are VERY fragile, so be careful when prying them up. Unfortunately its near impossible to get to the clips on the bottom unless you remove the entire assembly. There are two bolts on the outside of the assembly, one on the inside(a challenge to get out), and a plastic twist deal on top.

It won't be necessary to use silicone to seal the lens, if the rubber gasket is in good shape, and seated properly, then there should be no problem.

Keep us updated with your progress.

Thanks! Were your lenses glued on? Do you have Bosch or a different brand euro?

on my car i removed the headlight assembly. Once you get it out its a piece of cake to remove the lense. I used a flathead screwdriver to pry the clips open. the lense just comes off after that. I have a 94 e420 but the lense removal is the same for the euro lights for 86-93.

How did you access the side bolt by the radiator? I can't fit any tool in there...

Really tiny socket wrench... one with a long arm. I couldn't rotate it much without hitting an obstruction but it was enough.

When I removed the DOT lamps I managed to break one of the lense clips. The plastic clips had become fragile with their age. By design they're a bit sensitive. If you've got Euros they won't be glued.

8mm head.

Doesn't make a difference what kind of euros you have, they will all be held on by clips. Getting to that bolt next to the fan is tough, but just need a box end wrench and some patience.

Technically you could pull the radiator & fan assembly...
