odds are that the clip that holds the window in the track came off, it is most likely in the door still, so just pull off the door panel and take a look. Look up how to do this before you get started so as not to damage anything. If regulators fail, they stop working, they don't do this, it is most likely something simple. Fear not.

I had a 2001 E320 that had both rear window regulators fail. One was under warranty the other cost a few hundred dollars to remove and replace. Hopefully all you need is a clip or something. Good Luck.

awe the same thing happened to my passanger side back window... its still down as we speak cause the insurance guy said not to fix it myself cause then i might not get the money back from it.it stopped working right after that ****er hit me.... it goes down fine just cant get it up.. it stops as if it is closed when its like 3 inches down.. not cool.. cause everyday i have to manually clean her.. i cant just quickly go into the car wash.. its brutal.

This doesn't look like fun. I tried to do this but everything I touched broke off, so good luck.
