....Some of you guys/girls 15K tied up in a 300e sedan-counting cost of car and all the mods-but this guy should sell his car for $10k please...The most desirable W124's the ones that are the most expensive as of today and last time I checked 500e/Cabriolet is a toss up, coupes are 2nd everything else falls 3rd and keep going down

To properly "restore" a car takes time and money.

Starting with the proper 124 such as you state, can at least begin to justify the expense.

You don't restore any car as an investment, you do it as a passion.
On any given day, the correct buyer may come along, who really wants your car and will put a smile on your face.

I've been restoring and racing for forty years, and I'll be honest, my investment in my 300CE when complete will be close to $30K.
Will I recoup my investment, who knows, probably doubtful.

But what will I have ?

A vehicle I bought new in 1988 for $52K, 63K miles, with an as new interior, MB certified shop doing a Glasurite paint job, fresh twin turbo engine, new suspension, brakes, wheels and tires.

What can you buy new for $30K that will give you a unique ride and similar experience?

10k is a arbitrary number, vehicles are worth what one is willing to pay for it, given that fact and the fact that this vehicle has been for sale many, many times over the last year, no one is going to pay 24k or 18k for it, its pointless to continue offering it for sale at that price, each re-listing should have a lowered price, eventually it will sell. The end selling price? Hard to say, I know that I would buy it at 10k, there are probably people out there willing to pay more for it, but we will never know till the seller lowers the price.

that hood makes me want to throw up. I dont think AMG would ever build something as cheesy as that. For christ sake it covers the fog lights.

yeah the hood is an acquired taste.
and that filler panel in the rear is kinda iffy too.
if i somehow ended up with this car
those two things would be swapped out immediately.

The filler panel can easily be removed and replaced with the 91+ filler panel.

Sold-300ce AMG Twin Turbo
Hey Guys...I don't know how hacked up this car got after I sold it.The ebay ad has expired so I can't see it...I know the guy I sold it to went buck-wild whiting everything out right after I sold it to him.I purchased this car from the original owner/billionaire that was in his late 70's and let me tell you It was in the wrapper,I felt guilty even sitting in it so I wouldn't wrinkle the leather. He bought it new and had AMG do the body kit/sec hood conversion which the fog lights do shine through the grill!I never was too crazy about the hood conversion but it was a cool thing to have done when you had too much money to burn/columbian druglord/miami vice 1980's.Lorinsor springs if I remember, stainless exhaust. It had bbs basketweaves when I bought it from him and I put on some period correct Aero's.As far as the mossleman twin turbo kit($7000.00)at the time, was installed by his airplane mechanic, yes this guy had a couple of planes and a runway on his property!I just hate to see this car picked apart because it was honestly a piece of amg/mercedes history.AMG was not owned by Mercedes then...Super clean, low mileage, authentic AMG Bodywork. This car did not even have a stone chip on it!!!Perfomance was incredible for a cis car.I am not one of those Purists by no means,I love custom and craftiness but if this car would have remained in it's clean original AMG (black trim) buildsheet state,I believe it was good enough for Dupont registry and someone would def buy it for serious money and just leave somewhere to admire for years to come. This car was and still can be worth everybit of 18-20k.You can find pics of when I had it for sale under my posts,it wont let me repost pics for some reason.

124 320ce amg widebody twin turbo, the nail
the amg rear bumpers did not have cutouts when new. the amg's had different back boxes, with lower outlet pipes, wich went under the valance. often people would then replace the exaust, for many different reasons, but not use original amg back box. they were real expensive. so if you use a non amg backbox, you have to cut a hole for the tail pies to come out. i have two original kits, one not cut, and one that a previous owner has butcherd.

The rear bumper is AMG but was cut out because of the type of exhaust that was used.

Alas young Nick, you may have what you have but that doesn't mean that you can conclude on what was offered " new" by AMG...
Many variants in many markets from fiberglass to polyurethane in aero kits...and yes the cutout was as pictured below on some of the kits direct from AMG...
One even from an article in your country....
