Sig updated.

I was going to sell the wagon and get a 500E, but now its looking like I am going to keep the wagon and get a 500E.

So.... You guys ever get the Rainbow speakers?

Do I need to make a DIY on how to mount 5.25" speakers in the dash?

Sure....a DIY would be nice.

I've got Rainbows in the front dash and rear passenger doors (SL100, SL120s)

What is Kombi's Uber Alles? I'll post pics to this thread once my TE is running...

Justin, that's quite a stable and a 500E will be a nice addition. Since the wagon is getting the RT instead of my CE, it will be up for sale after I transfer the AMGs and probably Recaros. I don't know exactly why but somehow I've become more attached to the wagon.

Got a few snap shots today.

What do ya guys think?
Excuse the random wood strip on the passenger side...getting around to shaping the wood that goes behind the wheel across the dash as it doesn't fit right on unfortunately. Took it off a later w124 at the junkyard.

I asked a friend who took German, and he said it roughly means "Wagons Above Everything Else".

Oh hai there. I'm new to the Mercedes world and come from BMWs.
I am looking to get a W124 Touring (Wagon) and I want to know if they can be converted to 5 speed and what Mercedes the transmission would have to come out of.
Thanks.

Much better than hot sweaty skin burning vinyl, lol. They do look "fufu" but in 100+ degree weather, they are heaven. They came with my RENNTech along with a 4 pt harness and at first I was ready to remove them but soon changed my mind.

Well....I think my front dampers have seen better days. I've decided to do some experimentation with the suspension setup on the kombi.

Since I'm lowered, my plan is to order some Bilstein Sport dampers for the front. Since we've got SLS - mine's disconnected anyway - there isn't anything I'm going to play with in the rear....except to install a 500E swaybar and bushings.

I'll post my feedback after the work is complete.

What I did was to go with the sedan Sportline springs and shocks up front. Make a minor adjustment to the ride height via the SLS in the rear. Upgrade to 17" wheels. And wow what a difference without the full on sport ride. Flat and nice rebound. Only thing is, it took four different alignment shops, in four different cities before they got it to track right. A shop south of you in Columbus got it spot on. Didn't think about a 500E rear swaybar. It's good the way it is now, I hate to go further, but would like to know how it works for you.

Yes I would be interested in knowing how the rear swaybars feel.
Where would one obtain a 500E swaybar? (front or rear)

Thanks. I'll keep you up-to-date.

We're going to be testing this setup soon (I've still got the S-class loaner from mbenzman)

I just had a fair amount of suspension work done on my '95 E320 wagon:

New steering damper
New Bilstein Sports - front
New 500E rear sway bar
New 500E rear sway bar bushings
New motor mounts
New Dust boots - front struts
New 500E bump stops - front
New rear accumulators

I'm riding on stock springs that have been lowered (cut). I'm going to let this suspension settle a bit, then may have to revisit the ride height.

Drives "well planted"

It's running well, just need to pass smog to finish registration. I plan to install the Recaro C's, Euro Hella's from my coupe and eventually lower it...
