I've got a black/black wagon too and debated painting the lowers black. I love the look, but I want durability more I guess.

Mine is being more as a daily workhorse. I'm putting 800+ miles/week on the kombi now so my resources are targeted towards maintenance and repair necessities. I still get a 22 mpg average in mixed driving so not too many complaints!

I was wondering if anybody could tell me where to locate the taillights that have clear sections for the turns and reverse? My tails are all cracked and some broken tabs on the inside.

Just installed my new H&Rs yesterday and I'm not sure they are my thing. First issue is that i only bought new springs after replacing my blown OEM shocks with KYBs. While under there I found that one of my stock front springs was broken at the bottom. So I pop on the new H&Rs and #1 pads and now I am literally riding on the bump stops. Next step is to go back to my stock #4 spring pad and trim my bump stop by a single cushion ( any more and I will start rubbing) ... Any experiance out there that may help? Only wish I had the foresight to go with shorter bodied shocks... If all else fails I may have some H&Rs up for sale so I can go with sportline springs....

Ok, slapped on the #4 pads and trimmed two cushions off the bump stops. The struts and stops are no longer touching and I have a decent amount of travel. Only rubbed under hard braking while pitching it into a corner hard. So far I am much happier.

I have not installed the rear springs yet as I am towing an 5x8 enclosed 700mi this week. I did turn down my sls a little in the rear to put a little more weight on the springs for the tow. Also picking up a set of 17" AMGs next week!

Other than routine maintenance, the only repairs in the past six months have been:

Replace ignition cylinder lock
Replace fuel pumps

....not too bad for an 18-y.o car with 177K miles.

Oh, I can highly endorse the Michelin Pilot SuperSport tires!

Cool! would love to know how much trouble you run into. I wouldn't mind doing the same thing to mine.

Oh, also, are these kits any good? If so, would they fit onto a wagon?

i think you'll be fine without spacers, and for tires i would consider 205/50/17 in front and 225/45/17 in the rear (these rims are staggered). The stock tire size for the c class will also work but they will be a little wider (225 in front and 245 in rear) and may increase the chance of rubbing. plus they will be a little more expensive too...
definitely check off these sizes with the tire shop to make sure they will actually work for you, these are sizes that will keep your new wheels close to the same diameter as stock wheels.

Wow, thanks! Just so I'm clear, the rear rims are wider? So, if I buy them I need to specify two front and two rear?

thanks,
Michael

headlight lens for 94 wagon

Hello,

I need a left headlight lens (USA drivers side) for my 1994 E320 wagon. Will a Euro lens fit on my USA headlight assembly? My cracked lens has part number 1 305 621 619 (Bosch). I found a Euro lens 1 305 621 804 but I have not found a USA lens but only a complete headlight assembly. Thanks for your advice!

Tom
