You want to remove your speakers?
You have two options.
Option One-
You could care less about your current OE speakers and will throw them out when you're done with this.
Option Two-
You want to keep you OE speakers for some reason.
Option 1 Instructions:
Take a screw driver and rip open the cone. Stick your hand inside the speaker and rip it out. It will pop out (the ones in my car were held by springs)
Option 2 Instructions:
Carefully find where each spring is located and carefully pry that area of the speaker out. When removing speakers near your windshield, be extremely cautious as they can come popping out so fast that they hit your windshield and can shatter it.
Option 1 is easy, and that's what I did. The speakers are stinky, so throw them out if you aren't going to use them.
Good luck!
P.S. My metal cutting was for INSTALLING the oversized speakers. This was quite difficult and cause a few cuts on my hand. I used a hacksaw, a wrench and my arm. I just kept cutting and tearing until I had room. Once your done, it doesn't matter. Your mess is covered up by the nice matching grill guardes
The only way you could see your bad cutting job is by sticking your head in the trunk and carefully looking for your speaker holes. It's worth it to cut if you have to, no one will notice.
thanks!

assuming your 92 is the same as my 89, you can only fit 5'' speakers in the rear without cutting.
As I said, I cut, and was able to fit in 5 1/2. Those were circular. The 6 x 9s are oval, so...
You can, but it will be EXTREMELY difficult, and wear some work gloves.
