I think those DTM diffs come off the 190e DTM cars. I saw a 5.0 diff for sale on Ebay a few years ago but I simply could not afford the money. I regret not taking out a loan for it to this day -_-

Is the DTM diff a 210mm? What gear ratio? And what's the advantage, compared to just installing a factory LSD (or custom Quaife, etc) into the standard 500E diff housing? Oh, and if the DTM ratio isn't what you need... what ratio are you looking for?
BTW - awesome photos of the project, keep up the great work!

BTW - what is the Mercedes part number stamped on the DTM housing?
No, not off the shelf they don't. But I believe if you send them the "open" carrier, or an entire 500E diff, Quaife will custom-make anything you want for your diff housing. I think the cost is fairly reasonable too. However, if you want a super-low gear ratio like 4.30, that could be a problem... most factory ratios are 2.xx or 3.xx (which I'm sure you already know!). That may not be an issue if you can adjust the transmission gearing accordingly. While custom LSD units are not a problem, having custom gearsets made could be a lot more difficult (and/or expensive).

210mm refers to the diameter of the ring gear. Mercedes used 185mm ring gears behind most engines under 200hp, and the larger / stronger 210mm gears for engines over 200hp. The 500E comes from the factory with a 210mm diff, and a 4-bolt input flange. The photo of the DTM diff looks like a 185mm housing, and it has a 3-bolt flange. I'd just be concerned if it's 185 or 210mm gears inside... I'm not sure a 185mm will survive behind the moster motor your're building! If anything, I thought you might want the reinforced 210mm diff used with the M120 engines in the R129 / W140. See attached PDF file.

560sec 126/ 500sec32v race car
Hi how much to make a 2nd intake manifold at present in my class we are only allowed 4 throttle bodies
But i have been buiding a 119 6 litre engine and will be changing classes and will need 8 t/bodies
i have a very similar clutch set up mine weighs 3.7kg with clutch
Im using a 126 diff carrier with 3.96 gears from a 210 chassis and its spooled
never broken it yet and its had a lot of race abuse almost the same as a 129 carrier and housing
I have had valves check by the best cam designer in NZ and we have both decided standard size valves will flow in excess of 650 hp so they designed and made me a set of cams and supplied 2 piece race springs the cams are that big i had to cut a lot from the cylinder head so they would actually turn
Im hoping this engine will make the 650 hp i desire and need to win here
Keep up the good work
Tim
