TT Body Mods Part 1
Just got parts back from the painter....
So far Euro headlights, body match grille surround, mirror covers and face lift license plate area insert.
Next week Wald EX front spoiler, bumper strips that match cladding color.
When those items are installed, it will be time for the hood vents.....

I'll eventually do a complete Glasurit paint job early next year, or whenever the shop has an opening.
Most shops don't want to do full paint jobs as it takes too much time compared to collision work.
So you're at their whim as far as scheduling.
Still not decided whether to keep it with shell grey cladding as it rolled off the production line or update it to the later look.

Like the colour matched grill I usually don't like the two tone paintschemes on the W124s but I think in this case the grey on red looks quite good. Still If I were getting it repainted I'd probably go for the straight red.

Does it really matter
I use what is commercially available and has quality....
The main purpose of what I'm doing is for performance which I can and have substantiated.
Running a a M103 at .48 bar boost performing better then a 500E and approaching Hammer numbers.
So what's your point young man ????
You tend to be quite critical considering that you were two years old when I laid down 53 large to buy my coupe new in 1988.
Many months ago you claimed that you could source an OEM AMG ducktail for a coupe...we communicated, you came up shaky !!!

I think those have becomes hens teeth in the parts system. Albert at SoCalCarbon took the molds to make them though. With his schedule it could be another year before he's producing.

Very Slow Mercedes
Color Match it red,,,you already know what it looks like with the grey side body cladding you have been driving it that way for almost 20 years...The grill sheel painted body color is still a bit off for me but on your car and 2phast car it looks great.

I say paint it red. If you wanted it to be kept as a collectors' item, you wouldn't have done everything you've done already! So who cares about whether it looks "factory". Your wheels, lights, front spoiler, suspension, grille, the TT kit, and your hood (eventually) aren't stock, and don't look like they are either.
If you're gonna go to the trouble and expense to repaint, at least make it interesting!
And if it ever comes to the point where your car is some rare collectible and is getting prepared for auction, the owner is going to have to do lots of work (including some some paint) either way to get it back to stock.
Just my $.02! Have some more fun with that car!!!

Grille shell color match very AMG, TT kit is a documented part, and even the hood louvers were seen on the Mosselman Silver arrows in 1991.
But the reality is trying to go very fast and having fun getting there !!!!
Even with a Fald spoiler and HAY-MG wheels....
Just have to find my Rolex President that I paid $10.00 for !!!
Life is good thanks to the Chinese....
