Hit my first curb today... :'-(
Today was the first real rain in riverside in months.
SOOOO...I dont have to work until noon and I figured I'd take the benz out for a mini drift session.
Long story short, Narrow Passage-way + understeer + Me being an idot = big hole in my rim.
The impact didnt seem that bad but you guys can judge...
Think anyone knows where I can get a good price on another 1?

You should also make the suspension components aren't messed up. You had a lot of force go through that system so thats a must. A lot of little things can break and you wont notice just by looking at first glance.

How fast?
As above inspect the suspension,probably with a side impact you just did the rim damage,but better safe then sorry.You def need a new rim

Nothing wrong with wanting to have some fun with the car, but some times bad things can happen. Atleast you and the car are alright. Ive hit a curb in some rain-drifting as well, but no damage, I managed to slow down in time. Next time, just take it a bit easier

bring the car to a workshop,and let check the front left axle and let make also a wheel allignment because often after damages like this,the axle or parts of it are twisted.

and i have mini drift sessions too when in rains here...but i stick to neighborhoods with wide streets...and the smooth curbs (like a driveway)...and i've hit a few curbs, but thank god they werent sharp like your was (i think)

So I was driving to work after posting this and the tire was rubbing bad. The whole left side is tweaked about 2 inches to the rear.
I looked and couldn't see anything obviously messed up. I have a feeling I'm gonna go through a lot of components before I get the right one. Any suggestions on what it could be first and foremost?
Im thinking the spring bucket could be bent where the wheel bolts on. Then again, could be the tie rod.
Anyone think it could be the steering coloum?

i was working literally 5 minutes from my house today. The tire actually looks perfect considering.
The crazy jagged piece fell off. It doesnt look that bad. Its the tweaked suspension thats depressing me right now.

bro, i highly recommend you take that wheel off. you don't know what kind of hairline cracks it has, it could split while you were driving and cause an accident injuring you or someone else. just take it off and roll on the spare, that will give you a chance to see better what is wrong with the car.

Ive driven less than 3 miles since the accident and i dont plan on driving at all any more until I get everything fixed. Including a new rim.

Try these guys if you can't find a replacement rim. My nephew used them, they did an excellent job.

Sometimes the clamp holding onto the should slipps down causing the wheel to move off center. I had a hunk of metal hit my taurus SHO awhile back it was bouncing and then bang it bounced into the wheel f***ed a bunk of stuff up. I hope you have a buddy with a lift because that will be the only way you can check everything.

Rain and crazy power is scary sometimes. I wanted to do a small drift in a parking lot while turning and I ended up doing a 540. It didnt feel like anything as the suspension was way stiff but all of a sudden I was rolling backwards. Fun and very scary times.

Im sorry.I know Im not the best driver, but I honestly am confident that I can hold my own. Ive gone drifting countless times before, and never hit a thing. y only mistake was taking a corner that Ive never been around at a more than experimental speed. I know from now on to scope out any potential spots beforehand.
Well I get paid today and I talked to chris about hooking it up with a new set of wheels and some suspension components. Ill be set in a week...no worries.
