magnaflow are great mufflers, BUT any kind of muffler like magnaflow or flowmaster on an engine smaller than a v8 will sound like crap...ever heard a honda with a 40 series flowmaster? sounds like a bee farting in an empty coke can.

Remus makes a nice catback for the 124's but is expensive as $*@!

W124's
I always thought about saving the extra money and purchasing a Eisenmann or a Remus exhaust/Muffler for my E420 but I can't justify the spending that amount when I can go to a reputable exhaust shop and have a full cat back system custom made for half the price as the muffler alone.

Just something to think about. I want to tackle this but I need to put my AMG kit on first and god knows when that'll be.

lots of cars
Don't get the original 40 series, get the delta flow 40 because it has a deeper sound with out being too loud. I have the original 40 series 2 chambered mufflers and those things are really loud but they are on a 69 mustang so it's all good.

allright so using this delta flow 40 series as my resonator with my magnaflow should tune it down and get rid of that tinny sound upon acceleration??

No you dont need a second muffler on there. If you are going to get a resonator due just that. A resonator is placed on the system to subbdue sound heard in the cabin from your exhaust. Flowmaster has one on there site just go looking. As for your magnaflow look on ther site and find you exact model muffler, is it made for your car, or is it made for a big *** diesel. Look at your whole setup and ask your self what is wrong here. Also there is the option of going and asking a profesioal muffler tech what is wrong. If any one can make a good suggestion he will be able to.

A resonator is placed on the system to subbdue sound heard in the cabin from your exhaust.

Also think smaller like putting a longer set of tips on they will resonate the sound exiting your car thats how big trucks and mustangs get a better sound.
