Mercedes-Benz W124 Coupe E320 1995
Hi all!
Thank you very much for your advices.
Our roads are bad, but a dont drive too fast.
I dont understand, shall I have problems with 235/45 without AMG upgrade or it is better to use 225/45? Is this update difficult to be made?
The car is stock Sportline on original Sportline suspension...

Thanks...

lots of cars
You will have problems because 235 is too wide for the 33mm offset your wheels have. You will have to use 225/45 to make them fit and not rub. You can go with 235/40/17 but the tire would be too small i think.

But with some AMG changes it is possible to set 235/45?
Will car reactions be changed after the installation of 235 tires as comapred with 225 R17 or stock 215 R16?

Read this link:

http://www.w124performance.com/docs/...7x8.0_ET30.pdf

Follow the directions in that PDF file... install the fender spacers and strut spacers, roll the fender lips. If you do that, you can use 235/45/17 tires on those wheels with little to no rubbing. End of story. I'm unsubscribing from this thread, y'all can use 185's on 10-inch wheels for all I care. Knock yourselves out. Add a nice ricer wing while you're at it. And slanted coffee-can exhaust tips too. If you want to settle it on the racetrack sometime, drop me a line...

Thanks for your advice.
I had read that pdf long time ago and shall make that changes in spring.
About 10' wheels - I think you know, that there are problems even with 15' rims cause of brakes

My 2005 M3 uses a 255/35/19 on a 19X9.5 inch rear rim stock. Hold the press....you better call BMW and tell them that the tire is too skinny for that rim AMG Dave....what a huge mistake and dangerous on the track....it might cause a blowout or roll off the rim

Enzo, my Benzo
Thanks AMGdave, for your wonderfully narrow mind. Now if you will kindly go back to your dukes of hazard 75 profile tire life, we will go back to ours, where our wheel/tire setup is at home in the 21st century.
