got a new battery new porblem now

i now drive a ford p71 i also own a 1988 ford f150 lariat
got a new battery new porblem now

well i got a new battery but i got a new problem that was not there. i put a new battery in and the car started 1st try but it dies when i let the car idle???. could it have some thing to so with the abs because that abs light is now on some help on this would be nice

Try driving it around for a while. Since the battery was dead for so long maybe the computer needs to "learn" something after the ram was erased. This is the case with some cars, not sure about your M103.

i drove it around for some time to day about 1 hour and it still did it i hope that it is a fuse or some thing. ill have a look when it is daylight out

Rio it's your OVP fuse.

take the battery out, remove the plastic water dhiel (you know the black cladding that lies behind the battery) and you will see the OVP Relay there. Look ontop of it, there lies a flip lid.

open it up and replace fuse, voila MADWASEL!

thanks. i also have the problem of my car is haveing a hard time starting when cold like 6 or 7 trys cold this be the cause or is it my spark plugs there 8 years old

i hope it is not my fuel pump ether on of them that will be alot the last time it cost 1500$

fuel pump $1500? Wow. I could buy like 30 junk yard fuel pumps for that price. They even come with a 30 day warranty. When you turn on your car check that there isn't a buzzing noise coming from the battery side. This is your fuel pump relay that may be bad. Also check your temp sensor at the rear of the engine..

no buzz sound and the temp sensor is fine im going to look and see if it is the abs fuze when i get back to my car. and that 1500 was becuz we had to replace both of them.
dose any one know how much a new fuse will cost me for the abs
*yawns* i love my car if i have to put it in storage and work on little by little tell it runs again then i will do that im not going to get rid of it

can any one on here tell me what the ovp fuze controls on the car. from looking as some of the other ones i have they control a lot of things in the motor
