Pete's right - mine also took a few weeks to settle & lower all the way. I used vogtland springs & bump2 spring pads on the rear, but it isn't quite low enough for my taste & once my widebody rear arches are complete, I'll shave them down a little more.

I also HIGHLY recommend using the hub mounted rolling tool & liberal heat to thin the fender lips. Mike at Motorwerks did mine this way & they came out perfect - PERFECT.... Shame really because his good work at the front has been replaced with new 500e fenders & the rears were cut out to make way for the wide metal.

You should call a few local tool rental stores to ask if they have the tool & if that doesn't work, take your car to a reputable body/performance shop & pay them to do it (watch over them while doing it, of course...). Worth spending the money, in my opinion.

I appreciate the continuing feedback guys. I am interested to hear more about your wide body setup coupe...are you using real 500E fenders?

Also, I assume you have the fenders rolled? The AMG fender spacers in? Anything else to eliminate any rubbing? Let me know man...and please post or PM me a pic. Thanks.

Yo! Sorry Shannon, I didn't see your post until now. Here are some pictures. Unfortunately and oddly, these are the only recent shots I have which show how low the car is. Also, I just realized its the other way around with my set up. #1 in the rear and nothing in the front I believe. I'll double check tomorrow for you. Also, what sidewall size is your tires??? 50?

I have AMG fender spacers in and my fenders are rolled all around.

I'll get you some more pictures when I get the chance. The front is slightly lower now...

yeah, based on those pics I would say mine would wind up just about exactly where yours is now with 1's and none's. Until I get the fenders rolled however, I will leave it where it is, and let it settle a bit too, although I am guessing there will be little or none given that I used my original spring pads, which are obviously fully compressed already. The springs, for the record, should not/will not relax...ever (by design & tempering).

Also, those are 45's man...might need to rock 40's next time...we'll see. Thanks for posting pics Chris.

I just spent considerable time following with awe your wide body thread Coupe...in a word: IMPRESSIVE. I can only imagine how much that exersize is going to total financially...particularly because of how nicely the work is being performed. The value of your coupe makes that kind of work and dedication (including the TT install) worth it. Unfortunately, the sedan's value would probably prevent me from every going to that extent personally. I have a supreme love for my car, but even that love has it's limits! LOL. I simply cannot justify investing $20K into a car that will never be worth more than $10K. I sure will enjoy seeing yours however! Kudos.

any chance anyone here on the forum has or has access to an Eastwood fender roller that they might consider renting me for a weekend?

I suppose another option is to buy one and then rent it or sell it afterwards. I am looking all over locally, but I cannot source a rental company that has one, and I really want the fenders done a perfectly as possible.

Anyway...any takers?

DAMN! Those are 45's on those BFGoodrich. I guess they make fat sidewall. Mine are 45's just like you and they look no where near as big as yours

Shan - http://www.esetuning.com/product-p/f...ler-rental.htm

This was this first one I found on a google search... not sure if they charge extra for shipping, but worth a little more research. Might want to type "fender roller rental" into google & look for the closest vendor.

You have a heat gun, right..? just as important.

i used this guy on Ebay for fender roller because i didn't want to wait in line
which I found on many other places. guy was super quick in shipping and
in processing return shipping. read the auction carefully and note the exact
instructions on how to ship back. very smooth transaction overall.

current ebay #160195362722, seller is d_i_y_enthusiast
