iPod Adapter?
The disk changer stopped working a few months ago (the disk platter does not spin anymore)
Anyway, i want to know if there is an adapter that can be used to hook an iPod up to the end of the cable that is used for the changer in the trunk that would allow track selection through the factory deck . . .
I know it is a long shot because it is so old but i am curious

So if your stock stereo has those RCA inputs in the back, yea. It's super easy and MUCH better than using those crappy FM transmitters :P

seriously though
Alot of after market sterios allow you to conect it directly to the radio faceplate. You can go through a few different ways to hook it up...
But to do what your doin i dont think itll work that way because of the programs used. apple does play well with others, but sometimes it doesnt.
maybe a basic MP3 player would work because it doesnt use iTunes... ya, you would have a better chance with that.
for what your talking about, i think youd have to set up a small computer system. or some of the nice radios that are out these days work like computers and might work for you.
Good luck!

edit: and if you dont have a becker you need to do a serch because many after market head unit makers all have Ipod interface for 15-35 bux

) and it was rather flimsy, expensive, but the audio quality is 1000x better than any FM-transmitter could ever hope to achieve.
I have an Alpine deck with IPod connection. Ran the cable through the channels underneath the shifter tray wood panel the iPod is located in my center glove box. Cleeeeeeeeeeean.
Would be SO cool to like, make some sort of special dock type thing in the lower console :O Right in between the window switches :O Kind of like the Land Rover LRX concept (Except compatible with iPods too :P)

Make it USB UMS/MTP/PFD/PFS compliant so most any device with a USB connector (read, all devices) can be played.
Lol, just wishful thinking here. Ill stick with my assortment of DAPs and use AUX out.
Hey! What Becker do you have which allows ipod intergration? I have a Becker Monza, and I use the aux in. Didn't know I could get full integration.
I dont have a becker that does integration (plus, nothing Apple allowed in this house! I dont buy overpriced garbage
), I only have AUX in. I have the Becker CD 4602 (single CD in dash). The newer Becker Mexico 7948/Grand Prix 799x/ Cascade Pro 7941/ Indianapolis Pro 795x/ Cascade 794x can all interface with the iPod via the Becker iPod dock which allows the HU to control the iPod.
