Transmission mission gone bad? :( omfg -.-

Guys, the guy that's selling me his rebuilt tranny, well I just thought of something stupidly thinking that all 300e's have the same tranny -.-. He told me it wouldn't fit O_O. His is a 3.0/3.2 liter (i think) I have the 2.6. Is this true? I was really hoping for a direct swap. Would it be wise to buy his engine for $300 more? Or should I just find a junkyard tranny? *This sucks *

lots of cars
the are both m103 but one is just a 2.6L so the block is the same and the transmission should fit. If your engine is messed up just buy the engine from the guy and I can get you a computer from the junk yard really cheap if it's not included. I go on sundays to the junk yard and get whatever i can ...this sunday there was a computer there for the m103.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
three

different trans for the three models .320 .409 .433
call aurora auto wrecking in seattle they have the cross reference if it will fit.
the 190E 2.6 also used the 722.409 if you need to keep looking. The 2.6 used the 6bolt pan/small case and has a different modulator then the big motor.
3.0 motor used the 6bolt large case trans.Call aaw but I don't think it will swap.

I think it has the small case because it was meant to be on a 190e 2.6 but there shouldn't be a difference on the transmission tunnel on a 300e?

You should double check because i've never had to swap out my transmission. I have swapped transmission on mustangs so that's the logic that im using. The different variations in models i guess would be due to different internal parts like a 1st gear start and gear ratios. Also the stall converter and flywheel could be different but should be interchangable.

The

modulator and the line pressures are different,is the main problem and going through all the work for the r/r and then having it be sluggish or chirping tires on upshifts would be a bummer,so by all means do as YNVDIZW124 suggested and double check it
