I did the same thing where I painted everything on the rear of my car black that I could by myself. The contrast between my champagne paint and the black really seemed to date my car. I haven't done the bumper impact strips yet though.

Eventually I will have to redo the paint on the tails- I used a rattle can from Tower Paint, and although it's not flaking off due to the layers of clear I put on there, it have serious orange peel. So if you're gonna have a body shop do the kit anyway, I say have them paint the surrounds on your tail lights like Zorro did.

need to disassemble my trunk lid

guys long story but i started disassembling the trunk lid filler piece and noticed some not so good dirt / grime behind it. i'm thinking it's a recipe for rust to start forming so i started cleaning / waxing the metal behind the filler piece.

but i can't figure out how to get the narrow plastic strip off. it's screwed in on both ends and i took the 2 license plate lights off but it still won't come off, it looks like it's being held by something in the middle. the part i want to get off is part # 74 in the attached pic...

any help getting it off would be appreciated!
