Quote: Good idea, Rik and Ari !

I like Chuckanut - how 'bout lunch at an oyster house?

Good and close. I'd like a drive and photos. Perhaps we can stage some drive-bys and action shots? Those were popular last time.

Feb 28th ???

Yea I think Feb 28th would work fine for me. And that way Ben could make it too. I'll post on 190rev but I doubt to see any of those guys show up...

Some action shots would be very cool, and I think that there are places where we could get the cars into a shot with the islands in the backround. There is an oyster house somewhere on chuckanut kind of up the hill... Not exactly sure where. I'll check it out maybe this weekend if it's nice whether. I just installed new vogtland springs and bilstein sport shocks and the handling is amazing! All my old shocks were blown

Where to meet up before our drive? IDK if anyone else is familiar with the area, but once you get off the freeway at Fairhaven (last Bellingham exit) there are lots of choices. I think there is a Haggens right when you get off. Maybe that would be a good place to gather up? I'll check for restaurants in the area too.

Can't wait!!! Hopefully lots of people show up!

Yeah that Haggen in Fairhaven would be good or even down at the ferry terminal; there is a nice open parking lot there we could meet at.

Checked out the 'Drive.

Take exit 250 off the I-5 onto Hwy. 11 (Old Fairhaven Parkway) heading west.
If you follow the "11" west, there are signs directing you to the ferries.
Or,
Follw Hwy 11 West ( about a mile) and turn right at 12th St and drive North 2 blocks to Haggen's.

You local guys, Ari and Ben, would know best where to meet around there. What do you want to do?

This is the North end of the Chuckanut. Maybe a good photo op here, and a few along the way, but the road is very narrow - not many places to pull over.

Zorro: Edward R. Murrow's homestead is located at the south end of the run.
I plan on going, and you are welcome to follow or ride with.

Had a nice drive down 'the Chuck' yesterday. This was a spot we pulled over at. Just after I put my iPhone away, a '70's vintage 911 pulled in behind me.

Sorry about the cell phone quality.

Oysterz?
I was thinking of this place to stop for lunch, but it has closed.

However, there is a funky road (back of picture) down the back to a tidal flat, gift shop, and oyster fishery. There was a long, grey-haired hippie type down there, driving a 1990 vintage Jag with bashed-in headlights!

Further along the Chuck is another Oysterhouse, perched on the cliff - looks great!

Great road - you'll like it. Great shots if the weather is nice. We could do some action drive-bys on the highway, too.

Cheers

There's a ferry terminal down there???

hmm well that sounds good to me. I bet there would be less people at the ferry terminal than at Haggens, which would likely make for better photos. I didn't have a chance to check it out this weekend but I'll go exploring some time this week/weekend haha.

Does anyone still want to do this... I just realized that the 28th is this weekend haha. I never did go down there to check stuff out. I could still do it if need be. But we could easily just meet up and decide on something once we're there.

I am definitely down to go this weekend. We should meet in the parking lot at the ferry terminal in Fairhaven. I leave on Monday so this would be my last chance. My car looks so different since the last time you all saw it (thanks Mark!); it'd be cool to get together again.

I hear on saturday it's supposed to be sunny with times of clouds then start raining on sunday. 12:00pm works for me; does it work for other people? The restraunts down there are pretty good, The colophone is good for lunch, skylarks is good, I would suggest mambo italianos if people like italian food. It's pretty much the best restaurant in fairhaven. There is always Win's drive-in which is kind of like a Dicks (not as good though). There is also an avenue bread cafe that has good sandwiches if you like homemade stuff. We could always take a short drive downtown and go to Anthonies, they have a really good lunch. There are also a lot of other good restaurants downtown. in Anyway quite a few options.

Should we say this Saturday the 28th at 12:00pm at the ferry terminal in Fairhaven?

A list of who's going:

1.benz260benz
2.Vadim (C43 AMG)
3.
