How much is 300CE worth?
by the way...id say 4500 for a CE like that.... i might be off tho
It also depends on the overall condition. How does the paint look? Interior?
Make sure to get an answer on whether the head gasket has been replaced. Are there any oil leaks, particularly from the head?
I would pay nothing for a poorly maintained CE with that mileage, but would pay up to 10k if it were pristine. So to me, it's 100% dependent on its condition.

How many owners?
Has the car ever been wrecked? Painted? Does it have rust?
What is not working on the car now?
Have the owner(s) maintained and repaired the car using quality parts?
How does the car drive?
Can you post any pictures of the car?

You can't go by Edmunds or KBB to determine value of any older Merc, especially coupes or roadsters that are low mileage, pristine and have service history.
They are worth what someone is willing to pay.
Each vehicle is unique in itself, and the prices listed by various services are averages.
I had no problem last year insuring my 88 coupe, bought new, with 62K miles and with a recent twin turbo install for actual value of $25K through Grundy Insurance.
Underwriters wouldn't have issued the policy if they believed the value insured was excessive.

usually worked, since it seemed 'fair' to the seller...
