Still nice to know what a kind fellow you are. I'm sure it took a bit of effort to swallow that police search light idea and be able to say "whatever works for you and is safer." I'm sure you were thinking something along the lines of: "sheesh, what a nutty idea, he's going to ruin that car. . . ."
Cheers,
Lui

Thanks for the support! I was only kidding, however; I guess sarcasm is hard to detect in print.

Hey Lui,
We are all, for the most part, pretty cool cats here in this forum (kids of june excluded) and yeah it is tough to decipher sarcasm from seriousity. (I like making up words lol)
I think the internet needs to invent the sarcastication mark, sorta like a quotation mark or an exclamation mark but for sarcasm....
PS it's my idea. If any of you make money off it, I get royalties!! LOL

P.S. What do you think about these lights? If you put in projector HIDs where Rik(?) put his where do the high beams and fogs go?
Oh. . . If only I could find Euro 500e lights!

Would those light assemblies as they are with the best bulbs you can get (HID Kit) be brighter than mine?

What about without a HID kit -- are they about the same as mine or much brighter? I guess what I mean to ask is: what kind of bulbs do they come with? And would they be equivalent to getting the 500e euros?
Thanks for all of the answers!

Yes -- the H3/H4/H7 euro setup -- and that's what comes on all these euro (mercedes euro) and/or aftermarket lights then. . . even on your new lights?
Except you put new HID bulbs in their place? Do you need a separate ballast for each bulb -- potentially three on each side? Obviously I'm new to all of this, and thanks for all of your (Zorro) and everyone else's patience.
Gratefully,
Lui

Yeah you need one balast and igniter PER bulb (2 per kit)...so, if I wanted to HID all my lights, I'd need 10 (5 kits) haha 4 lower fogs, 2 upper fogs, 2 highs 2 lows ...lol...

actually, the new aftermarket bulbs have a solenoid in them that make the bulb physically move to give you high beam. i don't trust them though, i can see them easily cr@pping out:

personally, i would get those lights, and get sylvania silverstar bulbs, because from my experience these HID's without projectors throw way too much glare. i will tell you that retrofitting projectors into these is not as easy as 2phast made it look, and the zorro-style lights would be easier to do if you want to go that route.
i think some nice sylvania cool blue or silverstars would look good in the halogen projectors that come in those lights...

Thanks so much for the advice, guys. I think I will forgo HID for now.
As part of my brief education tonight, I just looked up the lumens my current lights put out -- Low 700 +/- 15%; High 1200 +/- 15% Low 45; High 65 ~4000K color. That is for silverstar 9004.
With the other lights (eagle eye projectors, or similar with H1, H7 or something of the like - H4, H3), I could have 1780 - 2500 lumens for the high, 1550 for the yellow fog, and 1340 -1550 for the low beam (depending on what colors I want 3200k or 4000k). That is nearly twice the light output!! Excellent!!!
So it looks like I can get that with either the stock euro lights or the aftermarket clearer ones and have the same higher output. The aftermarket ones are DOT approved and street legal (that's what many vendors say, anyway), while the stock euros technically are not, as far as I know. . . slowly but surely the light in Lui's brain begins to flicker on. Surely isn't HID!
Cheers,
Lui

P.S.
I was wonder what the back looked like and noticed this picutre on the net. Looks pretty well made indeed! Even has the vacuum levelling device back there, I wonder how well it works?
Cheers,
Lui

No, those are the only ones I could find that had a picture of the back of them. I got the tinted "illegal" ones. Now I am hoping not to get better acquainted with the local police. . . .
If I would have liked the clear ones, I definately would have bought yours, Zorro!
P.S. where did you get your rear ones from?

I have a set of eyebrows for the w124 from a site in the UK, they ran me about 35$ US shipped. I have yet to apply them to the car, but they do fit in place nicely. They are kinda swoopy, a touch agressive, but nothing extreme. Here is a picture of them just sitting in place.
