just a quick note... i dont believe the ASA's can fit the OEM Star centercap... The TSW brand AMG copy wheel (bremma) will fit the star......

blau-schwartz metallic (the most interesting indefinite, wierd even.. color) original... will be heading for a full body spray, in sept-october, by the looks of it. still have alot of tech issues to sort out first.

I've tracked down another set of replica's, not ASA's, some no name, with 18x8 et30...
so I don't know what to do anymore!
my Magnafow is out of stock (the mufler thingy I have to do next weeck), and another one ships (USA-Romania) in 3-5 weecks!
now I'm getting really frustrated!
the bilstein B12 is ready for mounting (the other thing next weeck), with full sportline bushings...
the engine's head will come of for a valve stem replacement and valve job, ignition and pullyes!

so, loocks licke I have a lot on my hands right now, and the last thing I needed was a part shortage! wheels are extremely important, cause I'll go for the early 500E bracke upgrade...
the curent AMG's are 17x8, with winter 225/45's all around, will remain my winter set... they are ET32 by te way...

help?! (whispers frightened, with large wet puppy eyes, from the bottom of a whel)

Hey there mate.. I don't think ET30 x8 would work at the front without substantial work (e.g. fneder rolling and pulling).. Better be careful with the front cux it's really sensitive.. Again, refer to Zorro's thread for more details

I have the Bremma's. It doesn't look to me like the center cap is removable, though I could be wrong. After years of high pressure washing the TSW symbol is starting to come off, if I can throw the star on them that would be awesome.

I know it has to come out from behind, what I mean is that there doesn't look like there are any seams on the center piece. It doesn't look like there's a center piece at all.

But I haven't looked at them closely for a long time... I guess wheels are just manufactured better these days.

please please don't use your current rims as "winter" rims. Those are amg monoblock I's. those wheels are a part of amg history.

I'll check when I get home tonight, all I remember is that they're 18's, don't remember width, sorry I haven't driven my car since the end of October and I'm in the middle of writing a bunch of essays, I hardly remember anything about my car.

Keep in mind I have rolled fenders.
I'll post tonight, I'm at work, then I go to school then off to a buddies to watch some playoff hockey so I won't be able to check until late tonight.

Bilstein B12 Kit ...

Hello Romania, France calling,

I am very interested to learn that you are fitting a Bilstein B12 kit. So am I - the car is in the garage now and should be finished by early next week.

Which kit did you get?

I got SE5-8172 - this was with the heaviest springs.

I added up the points and it was between 62 and 63 at the front. So, instead of being at the top end of the SE5-8175, I chose to be at the bottom end of SE5-8172.

Also, do you know who makes the springs for the B12 W124 kits? I have heard that it might be Ventura, H&R and som epeople in France say Eibach. Nobody seems to know.

Do let me know how you get on with the B12 - I shall also let you know.

All the best of luck.

RayH

Hy there rayhennig, nice to see I'm not the only one!
I got the SE5-8174, with the smallest availabile pads... expect a good drop!
the springs are H&R or my particular kit, but I heard it was either H&r, or Eibach... but for the w124.xxx I think they only come in H&R. spoke with both the german's and the romanian's about it (the shok's are made here by the way, so it's close to home), and they said that the springs come from USA...
It will be an interesting week! I start on monday.
(the Magnaflow comes on tuesday too, so expect to see that on!)
best of luck to you!
