E300 Diesel for Sale

I need your help. I have a 95 E300 D in mind with 165k miles. Car was in a fresh water flood last month. It is visually dry to the floorboards, but evidence of sediment up to the hazard switch. The car has not been detailed. Visually engine looks good, but with a shorted battery, owner could not crank it.

This car could have serious wiring problems from the flood. I would change all filters and fluids, battery etc, before attempting to crank it again.

Should I take the chance and roll the dice for the asking price of $2500? The body is clean. No rust or damage.

Buy it or walk away?

This will be a secondary Bio/HHO test platform for local use only.

Run away - you'll spend $1000s and $1000s and still never get it right. And just when you gotten way, way upside down on it, you won't be able to sell it.

Basket case. Seller won't even put a batt in it to prove it runs.

Bent rods, valves, etc if was running at the time or if not and cranked since; only god knows what electrical gremlins you'd live with ever after even if it did run.
