New Radiator and Thermostat

Can anyone venture a guess on how big my repair bill will be for these? I had my 1986 300E towed to an independent shop yesterday after the radiator neck broke. I've only had the car a few weeks so I'm pretty new to Merc.

You can typically find the radiator online or in stores for about $160-400 depending on where you buy it.

Thermastats range anywhere from $30-100.

I recently did all this maintanence and the total bill from my sources alone for the parts only was close to $200.

quality parts for Benz

I just did the radiator, thermostat, and waterpump a couple of months ago.

BMA in Glendale is excellent for parts!! Ask for Yves, the owner, 888-262-3911

I paid $155 for a Nissens radiator as the OEM Behr was considerably more $$ and it was perfect fit. Thermostat Vvarnet for $9.50, pump Graf $155

Fast, friendly service from these guys, they are BMW specialist but can also get good deals on Benz OEM parts when necessary/ and if there is a mistake they make it right.

My opinion is that unless you are a skilled mechanic with tools don't try to change the pump yourself!! Radiator is a piece of cake and you don't even need a manual. Use the proper coolant for Benz.
