Yes, there are. But recently winning $750 on a bingo scratch-off leaves me wondering. I already have all my audio components, lowering springs, (awaiting to be installed) and exhaust is on the way currently.

And besides, it's only $300. I think I can spare that for years of laughing at people pooping their pants when I drive through the city!

That is just hilarious....... I have to admit, I wouldn't mind an insanely loud horn as the only situations I ever use it in are usually MORE than justified.

It's kind of hard to throw a brick through a windshield with you're driving away from them...

Or in other words...mess with people that don't live in my area!

If you honked that thing at me and it pissed me off enough, I'd follow you and probably cause some kind of damage to your vehicle.

And I'm one of the NICE guys out there.

LOL

LOL honestly, is the horn worth the paranoia of wondering who will kick your car's ***? You honk and someone and they wait til you park and leave....uh ohhhhhhh...

That's why I don't plan on honking at people in their cars.
For example, I would honk at a group of girls walking out of a club at 2AM. Not 4 homies in a cadillac.

My indi installed a train horn in a 300 sedan for an older physician customer. The car was in the parking lot where he "tested" it. Man, I was ready and still jumped! The DB level was frightening and it sounded exactly like a freakin' train. The Dr. said he was laying for someone to cut him off in traffic again.

I notice the tri-horns were mounted under the hood aiming out towards the grill. Doing some research on this whim, I found trainhorn.com. These guys are the pros. They mount the horns straight down aiming at the pavement. The idea is when you blast, the sound is non-directional and street side people can't really tell where it came from. Sweet and stealthy. Now if you were to be caught laughing madly, I'm thinking you're busted.

I lost interest finding out citations adding up to nearly $500 can be written in my state. They suggest you could give people heart attacks and whack you with a stack-O-fines. They just don't see the fun, we all should have 'em.

100% agreed whiteknuckles! I plan to mount them pointing straight down actually. I already have a double horn set up on a CO2 tank, and it's freakin' head rattling.

And I thought fog-horns were funny in traffic! LOL

I'm sorry, but this is stupid and irresponsible. You honk the thing and cause an accident and I will LMAO when you go to jail.

Don't be an idiot. If it's as loud as White Knuckles says, I wouldn't just damage your car if you honked at me and I guarantee many people would feel the same way.

There are flavors that produce reasonable train honks but don't have the true tone the big boys produce. Long trumpets and high pressure tanks make for a shocking 150-175 db level. The even harmonic, multi-tone will carry for miles.

Maximum sound pressure level for live concerts is 120 db to prevent hearing damage. Stage levels are much less. Unsuspecting people jump due to the sound pressure, not the thought of a train nearby. You can feel it.

Diesel air-horns are designed for street use and are less ridiculous. I would be the lucky guy who would incite road rage on myself. The court would probably rule in favor of the guy I train blasted.

Well, the thing is Mark, not many people would want to f*ck with me when they see me get out of my car with a fully loaded .50 cal desert eagle. There's this little "thing" I have with the county police where they don't care what I do, as long as it's legal.

I've previously approved my horns with the cops, and they think it's a rather intelligent idea. And another thing, who said I was going to put it on my w124? Not me. IF you actually want to know the truth, I'm putting on my blue SL, which is locally known and appreciated by the county police as a undercover car.

My sole purpose in St. Louis County is to walk into local liquor stores and cheaply owed gas stations and attempt to buy alcohol. And when they sell to me, I tell the authorities the time, location, and the amount of what I bought. Then, they simply charge them with selling to a MINOR and they go to court facing multiple charges. So, get your sh*t before you start talking trash.

So whatever you're planning on saying, don't waste you're finger exercises on the keyboard, because I could give a ****. So pretty much, be quiet, and get off this thread because your input is NOT needed at this time, no matter how much of a smart A$$ you think you are.

Oh, and by the way, this is an internet forum, not an UFC Cage Match. So get on with your over-obsessed self and stop while you're behind.

Thanks

Underage, undercover cop packin' a .50 cal? Not to worry, you've gained a high level of respect with the county and deserve to do anything you want within the law. Train horns should be no problem for an academy bound informant. Oh wait, you are a cop right? Forget the academy, they must have badged you for ethics and conduct.

In this light, I recommend you get the take-down siren and light set. The county may fund it as you indicated they support special needs undercover cars. Push-bars and exempt plates would be a nice touch.

Wow. You make me LOL.

You come on here talking stupid about some stupid mod you want to do that COULD easily cause accidents, **** off people and get the normal "citizen" in trouble. What do you expect? Us to bow down like you are smart?

Then you pull out some ABSOFU(KINGLUTELY RETARDED crap about you and a desert eagle and you being an undercover cop?

Like I give a ***** what you do or say as a typical (now proving) ignorant gun wielding American a$$hole.

I do you a BUNCH of favors and offer you advice many times on here and you talk to ME like that, you little pre-pubescent PUNK???

You will not amount to anything, talking to people like that. Ever.

Oh and over-obsessed? Hardly....but I'd take THAT anyday over insecure douchebag that hides behind a fake badge and a firearm.

LOL desert eagle....more like urban Cockroach.

Kids....

man i'm not trying to hate but read what you just wrote.. you don't make sense! its not legal for you to carry anything if you don't have your concealed carry (CCW) ..all laws in states are slightly different but being 21 years of age is one of the requirements for majority! only Vermont and Alaska allow people under 21 without a felony to carry! ( i know because i got qualified this June ) as for your DE .50 cal.. they are for looks bro!.. they shoot like crap, follow up sucks, and jams all the time! (I had one in .357 mag, you'll spend more time cleaning than shooting!) i can shoot circles around your DE with my M9.. and there are many people out there like me with CCW that is "legal" to carry and knows the laws so you might not want to step out of your car pointing anything fully loaded unless you are talking about your car..

A.) I never said I was an undercover cop. I said I work for County as a sting operation officer. No, I don't have a badge, but they do supply my with a police issue .45, which they recently upgraded to instead of the 9mm.
B.) I'm not target shooting here, it's merely for self defense if bad turns to worse. And the DE is MINE, and was a graduation gift from my cousin.

So if you got offended Mark, I sincerely apologize. I realize now that what I posted was definitely over the edge. So I'm not going to be kid here, and man-up to making a mistake in what I said. Accept it or not, it doesn't matter to me considering we will most likely never meet. Just know I said I made a mistake.

wow this has gotten out of hand......

However, I must admit after thinking about it, is it really worth the possibility of some nutcase chasing you down because you not only made his heart skip a beat but also almost caused a car accident at the same time while trying to scare some girls? On the flip side I could see this being a fun but the possibility of fun failing you is absolutely against you with something that loud. I almost promise you will **** people off, undercover cop or not.

Now about your gun waving, thats the kind of stuff that will get you shot and killed, plain and simple its not smart. Think about it, you **** some guy off, if he chases you to the point where you need to either outrun him or pull out a gun on him. He is obviously angry enough to hurt you without thinking twice. So you pull your gun out, now there are most likely two things that will follow: this guy will get scared and talk to you like god or continue to approach you going "Ohhh yeah tough guy, you gunna shoot me, shoot me!!" Then you ask yourself, will I shoot this man? At best you'll end up in prison for 5-10yrs for attempted murder/manslaughter because after all YOU provoked the situation over a stupid horn.

Now that is possibly he worst case scenario, and will most likely never happen. Unfortunately though all you need to do is watch the news and see how often this stuff really does happen, road rage is a very real and dangerous thing these days. I think were all sorta just looking out for you bro, even if we come off as a$$holes we're just trying to warn you about bad things.

Holy Ninja Edit, STL, you DID say you were an undercover cop, then you erased it.

It was VERY offensive and yeah I was pi$$ed off becuase I consider you a good contributor and a decent guy on here. I try and explain how bad of an idea the horn is and you just went off.

Anyhow....apology accepted.
