Given enough time and money you can do whatever you want to any car. Short answer: Yes. Long Answer: Yes, but it's going to be a *****.

but do they make those kinda rims in like offsets of 35 etc ? i know as long as the offset is good even if they are wide that would be fine

You do realize that the majority of those cars have EXTENSIVE fender modifications. right?

So to answer your question, yes it could be done. Should, is a completely different story.

On the other hand, the second and last pictures (same car) actually have a decent-looking set of wheels on them.

The mechanics of having a 35 offset on our cars simply does not physically allow for that much dish without some major fender flaring. Talk to bluecoupe and ask how much it cost him to do his 500e rear fenders. His car looks amazing.

Many of those rims are probably available for our cars, but there won't be any lip on any of them.

Cause the way offset works in combination with the width of the wheel....you need a wider wheel if you need lots of offset to get the lips you want.

You can get wheels with all kinds of different offsets and widths... That's not the problem. The issue here is that the w124 doesn't have room for it.

Said another way... go out to your car and measure the lip of your wheel. Then measure the distance between your tire and the inner edge of your fender (from what I remember, I would be surprised if you have more than a quarter of an inch). Add those two numbers together. That's how big of a lip your car can accomodate without modifications to your fender. You might be able to stretch your tires a little to gain an extra .5" of lip.

To do this properly, it would cost you a fortune... and for what? IMO, those cars are very ghetto.

That's sorta what I was implying...that the offsets for our cars that will fit will not be extreme VIP style.

Ditto. Thats exactly what I meant when I quoted bertii the first time.

Another option that Ive seen done is shortening the axle. Like bigpete said though, a lot of money for what many would consider a negative gain.

Whoa! VIP is not ghetto. VIP is presidential status, gangsta status, money making i dont give a fk status. The people that roll in those cars have a chauffeur that drive them around, thats how ballin VIP is.

It also looks ridiculous. Money can't buy class, case in point: VIP or Donk. But, this falls under the "whatever makes you happy" category, so have at it berti. Just make sure you document it carefully so everyone else who wants to know what is involved can learn from what you did.

I dunno man. Maybe it works for rappers and stuff, but if I saw a white guy like me riding around in a car like that I would laugh my *** off.

To me, guys making tons of money who were into modding their cars to get attention would mod a bentley, not a w124.

My car is VIP-inspired, but definitely far from ghetto in my humble opinion.
