Headlights

RHW- Thanks for the offer but I may go with the MTEC's. Just thinking about what is available for the fog lights too. I want brighter lights but not so hot as to blind everyone and post a risk of melting electrical componets down the line! Sounds good so far if I stick with the recommended wattage which is a given IMO.

I havn't done my Fog lights yet, but I will.

Yes BigDog stick with the 60/55 and everything will be perfect

I used the link he provided yes. You can see I won the ebay auction if that helps match up the right link. Same username.

I just installed mine today, what a difference! Big thanks to you (for pictures) and 2PHAST for recommending a great set of bulbs.

^ Awesome

I got a good picture of my beam today against a good wall. Any particular reason for the "holes" in the beam? Or is that just the price I paid for aftermarket euros? Not that I care too much as to compare them to the Stock US lights is not even comparable.....just curious.

Bulbs

I ordered the bulbs and should arrive shortly. I have after market Euros (Depo) for my 1989 300E and the light pattern appears normal.

Bulbs

My DEPO light pattern is the same. I read somewhere it had to do with the Euro specs keeping the glare off of oncoming drivers. I am really happy about making the conversion. I hope THE MTEC bulbs make even a bigger difference! We'll see!

That is the stranded European light pattern. I read they raise up on the right like that to illuminate road signs. Interestingly the 94-95 US lights have the same pattern, my stock US lights look just like yours.

Bulbs

OK!

MTEC bulbs are in. If you like to get the yellow out of your lights, then these work. Not necessarily brighter. Blue bulbs filter out the yellow band.

I use these

The Mtec's blow the Silverstars away IMO
Just to continue the thread...

I want to replace my stock fog bulbs as well as the color's are not the same...I can't find any MTec fog lights? Any other's that you can recommend that would go with the headlight bulbs I purchased? (The same ones in the quote)

Fog Lights

I replaced my fog lights too along with the headlights. At least they are all the same color. I believe the fogs were H3's.

Mtec H3 fogs are what I run in my headlights. I have JDM Piaa H3's in my bumper fogs, they are also very white and look almost identical to the Mtec's IMO. They cost more though.

All I see on the pages are headlight bulbs...are they the same thing? I also see that it says 150W on them....Isn't that too high?

Sorry, wasn't impling that you should go with over wattage bulbs, when in doubt search their store.

These are the 55 watt Mtec H3 bulbs.

Oh okay so there are no "special fog light bulbs"? Only that I need the H3 bulbs that are the correct wattage.

Thanks for the link!
